hood
Hello
How can I get you to put hood open for engine_v8_stary_scharged? for Dodge Charger, Tempest Magnum, Plymouth Roadrunner, Salem Specter Fastback, Ford Mustang Mach 1, Bolt Cape, Bolt Reptilia and Dodge Challenger; Or could you add them in the parts library please, since without that opening they look weird with the air intake on top
thank you

Not possible. Only the devs can change these models.

It's a bummer. The editor is a blast to mess around with, and you can create some awesome rides, but after all is said and done, it's still pretty limited. I had to accept the fact that if I want a ride to look really good, I have to deal with some undercarriage/interior clipping issues. But the supercharger/hood clipping is just too much, among other things. I feel ya.

Can't you use the "Hood B" from the custom body parts catalog? It has a hole cutout for that. I'm not familiar with modding these cars though so... seriously just asking. I realize there is not a hood for all the different models with a hole cutout......just seems like some hoods could get used on other vehicles while modding maybe?

Unfortunately, it isn't a universal hood for all the old-school vehicles.

I don't know anything about the modding, either. Just referencing the car editor.

You can remove a hood by editing the car's bodyconfig file. Add a blank line at the bottom then add the following two lines:

[tuning]
hood=EMPTY

If there is already a [tuning] line, no need to add it again. Just put hood=Empty at the bottom of the tuning list.

The name of the bodyconfig file may be bodyconfig.txt , bodyconfig1.txt, bodyconfig2.txt etc. It depends on which version of the car you have. To find out, look through the corresponding config.txt files. Locate the config file by reading the 2nd line that starts with "carVersionName="

If it matches your car that's the config file, say config2.txt. So, add the hood=EMPTY to it's corresponding bodyconfig2.txt file.

These config files can be found in the car's appropriate subfolder here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Car Mechanic Simulator 2018\cms2018_Data\StreamingAssets\Cars

Or you simply not put the hood on but then you won't get 100% completion. The above method will give you 100%. Works for other parts too.

If you want a car with a hood with a square hole in it, that's another matter. That can't be done to the standard cars.
