The only problem I saw in the olsen: is the back seat if you remove it and want to put it back on the board, I can put the plates and glasses
I had the above happen on a job (but can't remember which job or car it was now) and the only way i could clear it was to use the task manager to quit the game so it didn't register I'd started trying to fix it, and did the whole job again but left the bench well alone!!!!! After that i managed to complete it. It was the bench that was stopping me from completeing it. That may well have been one of the Olsen jobs.
I've started manually copying the game files containing the game saves to my desktop now and update it after every large job I do as it's the only means of attempting a 'back up' of your saves incase anything goes wrong!
Might be worth considering.
As for all the tiny things (clips on the air box, wheel bearings, rubber bushes, plugs and caps, or fuel pump), if any of those are the problem, when you remove them from the vehicle they should show as being found problems, no? I even checked the suspension arms to make sure it wasn't a case of the arm itself being ok but a component bushing being worn.
hefp8, I'm not sure I understand you, but I'll try messing around with the seats, windows and plates some more.
Edit: mission complete, with rear bench in engine bay, lol. With all the disassembling and re-assembling of course you forget which part or bushing needed to be 100% vs 59% etc. - and so end up re-assembling by trial and error, or else just buying all new. What a pain this job was! But I suppose that mimmicks real life in an off-beat way as jobs-from-hell do happen....
If you know how to edit a txt file I tell you how you get it
I had one turn up once with a rad but no fan housing or lager fan, and just the smaller fan floating around in mid air all by itself.
Glad you got it sorted though. That would have been gutting to have lost all that progress.
ps. If you wanted to do that manual game save backup that I started doing, you can find the folder here:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Red Dot Games\Car Mechanic Simulator 2018\
I just copy the entire CMS 2018 folder onto my desktop (as it's only about 200k in size) and then I just replace the complete folder on the desktop after every large job or purchase of a vehicle etc. That way I always have a 'safety net' if all goes wrong, by being able to replace the original folder with the desktop copy, effectively rolling back my save to a previous known good one. Haven't need to use it yet, but I'd rather the hassle of copying the folder every now and again rather than losing 100 hours of gameplay! The latter would probably make me cry! :D
hefp8, I'm sure I'll get around to the Bolt Chapman. I'm comfortable with editing txt (and hex) files.
Thanks folks,
in the folder
