Post CMS2018 plans?
So, I wonder if there are plans for CMS2019 in place? Personally I hope not and let me explain.
Red Dot have finally started making this game what we all want, with the real licensed DLCs and content. The updates have been much better and more responsive than previous games.

I believe the next step for CMS is to either rebrand away from the yearly name, and become some kind of living/live game. Or if they have to, 1 more iteration to move to a better/updated/less buggy engine with the features they foresee requiring that can be long term.

Fix the main issues with the engine, with the platform. But then turn it into just CMS. Continue bringing out updates and fixes and licensed content. That's what we want. I am dreading the thought of paying all this money for this cool content that finally makes me feel like I am working on actual real cars and not random, fake ones to then be shipped a CMS2019 without all that content and to either have to wait for it all to come out again or possibly different content if the licenses are only for CMS2018.

This game will continue to sell if it just stays on the same track, improving. If another one comes out after this one has gone so far in the right direction it will be terrible to see, because then all the hard work, time and money put into this game will be reset. Sim games don't feel right well with yearly, isolated iterations. They thrive in the long game. I'd like to keep my hopes up that Red Dot know this and are planning that way. I want a game I can enjoy at any time, not a game where I have to decide which year edition of it to play, knowing next year another will turn up and we'll go through all the same teething problems again and again.

So ultimately, the questions I have for RedDot if they wish to read and answer them;
* Are these licenses specific only to CMS2018? Or can they now be used in other verisons of the game, etc.
* Are you considering the long game of a living game rather than yearly/bi yearly increments?

I love this game and I want it to thrive.

I beleive that CMS 2018 is mapped out from late 2017 through to sometime in 2020 or it was something like this when the game originally released.

Any 2019 type title would need to be released about now. Licencing information is kept between two parties - the developer and the owner of the item(s) licenced. Generally you will only get licencing for a single title. Subsequent game releases would require a new licence.
