Don't! You can try to create a new version of the car with the engine you want by using the editor. I'm not sure if it works with DLC cars though. I think it should.

Sad that it has to be done externally, V8 /LS swapping Rotaries is... Legendary. It's literally the first thing i thought of when i heard swaps are possible now. :(

Please dont make suicide jokes. I understand you were kidding but its not something to joke about. But yeah im a little concerned i cant motor swap an rx7. (besides using the editor)

the lack of a swap option makes sense seeing as swaps in this game are family based and the rotary isn't a v8

But putting the newer WAnkle into the older RX3 isn't possible either, which is near a family as you're going to get.

The game cherry picks swaps for sure and misses some obvious ones, but that sorta is why they made the editor available. (which they need to be thanked for as it's one of the few really forward thinking things they've done that doesn't include the letters D, L or C)

My 440 RX3 I did in the editor has survived since the 1.xxx updates. Just pulled one out of the junkyard last trip.

Talk about something you can't drive...

Cheers..!

this is a valid point. TBH I was unaware they didn't make this an option as I've not done much with the stock game cars in a long time.

The game itself do not cherry pick anything. You don't have to forget, that these cars are licenced ones. And there may be a good reason for Red Dot not to allow engine swap for the Mazda. Mostly because Mazda doesn't allowed it by themselves or for the poorest reason. Ret Dot had just forgotten to licence engine swapping. May be just because it wasn't possible back those days the game was released.

And for the case you do not remember, the Mazda DLC was available nearly from the launch of the main game.
