Sad that it has to be done externally, V8 /LS swapping Rotaries is... Legendary. It's literally the first thing i thought of when i heard swaps are possible now. :(
The game cherry picks swaps for sure and misses some obvious ones, but that sorta is why they made the editor available. (which they need to be thanked for as it's one of the few really forward thinking things they've done that doesn't include the letters D, L or C)
My 440 RX3 I did in the editor has survived since the 1.xxx updates. Just pulled one out of the junkyard last trip.

this is a valid point. TBH I was unaware they didn't make this an option as I've not done much with the stock game cars in a long time.
And for the case you do not remember, the Mazda DLC was available nearly from the launch of the main game.
