Thats what i,m doing on a regulair base. i dont think there is anyone who could help you at this point. But did you use any mods as well, Or do you only use the default game with sertain or none DLC content? Mods can destroy your game entirely you see. just asking......
I would think that the "cloud" should have backups, so they could restore my progress. Otherwise, what is the point in cloud saves, if your local corrupted saves overwrite them?
Also, as far as I remember, there wasn't even any updates around the time it happened.
Another thing is, I did have a backup from earlier that evening, but when I tried to use that, then my garages was empty, and so was my shop. It seems like the cars only are saved in the cloud.
This could be Steam Cloud issue - hard to judge. We wanted to turn it off - but there was not much cloud issues reported recenly, that why we leave it on.
Im really sorry to say this, but playing such games like CMS2018 without manually backing up your save files is... stupid.
Im manually backing up my files after finishing EVERY story job or after restoring of EVERY car I want to keep in my parking lot.
even if im reviving a possibly dead thread.
contrary to what the devs told, my game did delete game files. i was just rebuilding a car from a barn when i closed the game, bought a dlc, got back to the game and all progress went nuts.
then i checked for the folder containing the save games and - like i expected - it was empty. beside the difficulty settings and the name. and yes i DID check the backup folder which was also empty.
funny thing tho is that all other test- and cheat-profiles i created to try stuff out kept their "progress". this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. i paid 25 € for nothing right now. work of at least one month has gone to hell now. great ...
