Piston rings and part not found
Hi All
Just finished rebuilding the motor on the stand with brand new parts I am restoring a Smith, it says piston rings have not been fixed (impossible as the engine is finished) this happened to me once before and I had to remove the pistons and refit them while block in the car then it was fixed.
I also had a "part not found" on the last car I repaired, I srtipped it down to nothing still could not find part, so I just put it all back together and still not found BUT the 2 parts were fixed, so I had green all over including the 2 parts not found, That has to be a bug, also (and this has now happened twice) If I have a part that is faulty so 1 spark plug othe 3 are OK at 76% I buy 1 plug and if I don't fit that plug in that particular position, it says it is not fixed, no big deal on a spark plug but this did it to me on a piston and rings, rather than keep trying to remember where each faulty part came from I replaced them all (as a real mechanic would) except I never got paid for the parts I replaced that were not faulty.

for the piston ring bugs, that happen all the time for me, the trick is to put the motor in the car reinstall the transmission and use the compression meter tool

Yep the compression test fixes the rings not having a condition. As for parts not found 90% of the time it's because the parts are missing and you will discover them when you reassemble the vehicle.

Yes but even when I put it back together it still said part not found, but it was fixed, thinks for the tip about compression tester, will get that next

Radiator fans have the same issue. Once you have the engine in the car, using the volt meter will give you their condition.

Is this game still bugged? I have completely stripped down a Delray looking for strange noises in engine compartment. There is nothing left in this car, NOTHING, yet I still have a part not discovered.

If everything is out of the car (except the interior) then certainly something is missing right from the start. If it wasn't there the first time you disassembled the car, than you cannot discover it until you added the missing (link) part.
