This game mixed with YouTube videos though have helped me do my own brake job on my BMW 335i along with fix belts and troubleshoot issues. I really find this game relaxing and it does a good job slowly introducing you to more parts, my fave part is in the car order you can see the parts you need and click a star and it highlights the location in the game. Most parts I'm familiar with now but when I'd get a new part I had no clue on this showed me where it was hiding.
I'm not from US so I never had my own garage let alone a car up untill I was 23 I was finally was able to afford a B13 Sentra beater, then fast forward I owned a b14 and now 240sx coupe. My dad never worked on his cars and there is no mechanic classes here unless you go to Institute.
with shame I admit Im a mechanics' scrub and cant do a DAMN thing without a friend supervising me(aside from meintance and I changed breakpads, its was a miracle I was so proud of mysef.)
But if its helping me im sure it will teach some basics to my bro, it is very fun and SURPRISINGLY addicting.
