Pagani DLC: Feedback
I finally managed to get around to trying the new Pagani DLC. Credit where credit's due, the new cars have ALMOST all of their Performance parts. The only part missing is the new V12 Power Steering Pump. Other than that, good job accounting for the Performance DLC. Working on the one Pagani car I managed to actually find was a dream.

So far, I've only been able to work on the Pagani Hayao... Huawei... Let me check... Pagani Huayra! That's the one. The car looks great, the engine is fun and unique, the pricing is... Excessive, but "supercar" and all that. But it does have a few oddities about it which aren't so easily explained.

Fuel Filter: The car doesn't have appear to actually have one. Now, I'm not an expert when it comes to cars, but I'm pretty sure have some kind of fuel filtration.

Exhaust: There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the exhaust, other then what part of the car it's accessed from. On the Harambe, it's accessed from inside the Engine Bay. While that makes logical sense, there's still an "Exhaust" section of the car from where nothing can be accessed. That's a problem, considering the Exhaust section wraps around the Engine Bay and consistently absorbs my clicks, yet doesn't let me work on the car. I don't know what kind of technical limitations you're working with, but I'd rather access the Exhaust from its own section, even if I'd have to jack up the car to get to it.

Pistons: For some reason, the game forced me to lift the car and remove the pistons from below, but still let me reattach them from above. No other car so far has done this for me, and it was quite confusing.

Oil Change: The Pagani Honda doesn't seem to have any way to actually access the Engine Bay without disassembling the entire rear end by removing the Rear Clamshell and both Rear Headlights. Maybe that's true to the real car, I wouldn't know, but it makes an oil change into a massively more complicated task than it needs to be. Isn't there something which opens on the back to allow access to at least the oil inflow pipe, or would that be unrealistic? Additionally, pouring oil into the engine leads to hilarious amounts of clipping. The funnel clips with the Intercooler and the oil can clips solidly into the engine. I know there's fairly little room to work with for the funnel, but I don't see why the can has to clip this badly.

Water Pump: Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here, but why is the Water Pump open on the top? Seriously, there's a flanged pipe sticking out from above the pump to which nothing attaches. Was there supposed to be an extra element to the engine? I fail to see how the pump can build up pressure if it's open to the atmosphere like that. Again, I'm no engineer or mechanic so something may be escaping me, but it genuinely looked like my car was unfinished at the end.

I'll try and get a Zonda to play around with, but actually GETTING the cars I want has proven quite difficult.

I finally found a Zonda! Ended up having to use the Swiss Knife mod to spawn more cars at the Junkyard, but eventually one popped up for sale. As with the Pagani Hanamura or whatever that was called (the other Pagani car), working on the Zonda was a lot of fun and having a full set of Performance parts was well worth it. I did run into a few issues, as well as gaining new clarity on a few older issues. Here's what I found:

Fuel Filter: The Zonda doesn't have have a fuel filter, either. The latest patch introduced a fuel filter to the other Pagani car (I choose to believe it was due to my report :) ) but the Zonda seems to have missed this change. I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be one.

Water Pump: I finally realise why the water pump on the Pagani Hayayaya had that flange open to the atmosphere. It's because that and the Zonda use most of the same V12 engine and - crucially - the same water pump. The Zonda has a Thermometer which mounts to that flange. Since the other Pagani car doesn't have the thermometer, its water pump has nothing to mount there. Frankly, at this point I feel like we should have gotten separate water pumps for the two cars, one with (Water Pump (V12)) and one without the flange (Water Pump (V12 B)).

Radiator: The Zonda has an even worse problem with its clamshells. Not only does the rear one not open to provide access to the engine but the front one doesn't open, either, to provide access to the radiator. Worse - I couldn't gain access to the radiator AT ALL. I couldn't click on the radiator area from outside the car, and when I did manage to see the radiator, he game told me to access it from the "egine bay." Err... The engine bay on the Zonda is in the rear while the radiator in the front. That seems like an unreasonable request, especially since the radiator is almost outside clicking range of the engine. I managed to make it happen by clicking on the alternator and zooming all the way in, but that was close.

The Hauyara didn't have this problem. On that one, I could just walk to the front of the car, pop the hood and click on where the Radiator should be. Why isn't this the case with the Zonda? That right there damn-near made the car impossible to complete.

Oil change: The Zonda's oil change is done MUCH better. While the oil intake is still crammed in between the body kit and the air intake, nothing clips. The funnel and can are held at an angle such that both stay outside the car's geometry. The oil does clip through the funnel a little bit still, but the whole process looks a far, far more natural. Please consider fixing the oil change for the other one - clearly you're capable of doing it correctly.

---

While I'm personally not a fan of Pagani as a brand (I prefer muscle cars over racing cars), this DLC is very well made. There are technical issues with it, naturally, but the body kits are intricate, the carbon fier is beautiful and almost all the parts which should have Performance counterparts do. Now let's see if we can fix the older DLCs to be like this :)

I vaguely remember something similar to this with one of the other rear engine cars, where a part was located in the front but had to be accessed from the engine bay in the rear. It was reachable but it seemed very odd to me. I can't remember which car it was atm.

The only rear engine car I'm aware of is the Elenti Callope, and that worked fine for me last time. Radiator is accessible from the front if you just click on it. The Pagani Huayra (can never remember that name) worked fine, as well. I think the problem with the Zonda is the radiator is under the body shell, which makes it impossible to click on from the outside - you just click on the body. At least I think so - I can't tell where the radiator is supposed to go when it's not there! :)

If you're thinking about cars like the DeLorean or the Maluch, those were from CMS15. I kind of miss the Maluch, to be honest...

DeLorean DLC was promised for CMS2018 at launch. Not sure about Maluch.

the Maluch is available in the workshop under its proper name (that I can't remember currently) but it doesn't have the proper engine because its not available in the game. as for it being added I don't see it happening since its not a proper car. Also they wouldn't have let a modder add a car they are making.

In the files, the Maluch is called the "Kaszlak." Considering that unique engine is why I like the Maluch, I don't see myself tracking down a Mod version without that. I don't see it being added officially, either, as it's a lot of work for what is - in all fairness - a pretty crappy car from an economic perspective. The Maluch would always lose you money in CMS15 since they set its return on investment so low. As I said in another thread, though - I like working on unique engines and don't so much care about unique body shells, and the Maluch has the former in spades.

*edit*
The Pagani cars also fit that bill, by the way. My issues with the cars right now are predominantly in their Clamshells not opening, but working on their engines is still a joy and a nice breath of fresh air. That's both because I like the engines and because they have almost all their Performance part.
