That was my Hard find.
So you're half way home..!!
(...but judging by the typing you may want to walk there instead of drive...)
That little bugger on the back of the clutch, the Crank Caps and the Steering Rack are the top three offenders in my world. I get the occasional AF box or Cam related issue, but those three happen a lot for me.
Cheers..!
As long as engine starts, I take it for a spin on test track. This will find most of the suspension and steering main components. Always use tools (Electric Meter for Battery, Alternator, Starter and Radiator status.... Compression for Pistons, Rings, Crankshaft and Block.... Fuel Pressure for Filter, Pump, Rails and Carburetor.... OBD for ABS, Spark Plugs, Distributor and Ignition Coils). Compression test will tell you how much of the engine/transmission you are breaking down (see Crankshaft or Block... it's a complete teardown).
If all else fails, use the inspect mode and click on parts that can be. When you find RED, bingo, you know to remove.
As always with story cars, if multiple locations for a part are possible (brakes, bushings, pistons/rings, plugs/rods, etc.), click the star on work order on the part line for the blue outline. So you put the 100% part back in this location to check that off order.
