I repair the cars in game the way I would in real life. If the brakes are bad on 2 wheels I replace all 4. If the drive side caliper is bad I replace the passenger side b/c they were both put on at the same time, presumably, so they are both the same age. One failed, one didn't but leaving the one that didn't on the car is unsafe b/c it probably doesn't have much life left in it. There are car repair scams out there but most of the time when your mechanic goes to fix X and finds Y is bad it is b/c most of the parts were all put on at the same time and if you have disassembled X enough that Y is simpler, might as well replace X and Y. It makes sense but is not always easy on the pocket book.
