Can't put rims on tires.
I know this game is bugged out, but I can't seem to find a work around for this (it keeps coming backto people can't mount completed wheels to their cars) I went and bought repacement parts but when I went to mount the tires to the rims it keeps coming up and saying there isn't anything to work on. But, I have rims and tires in my inventory. I've deleted and re-bought both tires and rims, I was able to get one mounted and it's on the car, but the other 3 are a no go.

I can only go with some basic questions at first, and then from that, maybe we can narrow it down...
So sorry if my questions are dumb at first. My goal is to help you and not make fun of you.

Are you sure rims and tires are at the same diameter (14'' / 15'' / 16'' etc...) ? (been there done that, even knowing what I was doing.... just that dumb moment you know....)

If yes, have you installed "repair all" mod" I have seen few comments about it beeing sometimes buggy with latest patch, so if oyu have, unsub from it and try again. If it works, install it back and check.

Also, maybe an integrity files check for the game here on Steam may worth a try.

Make sure to come back giving us feedback so either we keep trying to find a fix, or stop scratching our heads, and giving a hint for the next ones, if you know what fixed it.
Hope you'll sort it out

EDIT : we REALLY talk about mounting tires on rims right ???

IF rims and tires are assembled... have you BALANCED the wheels before trying to mount them on the car ? (because from my understanding it's a step that was not required in CMS 15, but I don't own any older version)

Most likely as said above;
1. You dont have matching diameter tyre and rim.
2. Mods.
3. You havnt balanced wheel after fitting tyre to rim.

Yes, because I bought all 4 in bulk (Quantity 4 in shop) and I was able to assemble 1 of the 4, balanced it and installd it on the car.

No mods installed, just bought it yesterday.

I'll try the file integrity check.

Yes, installing the tires on the rims with the wheel changer. Clicked on the wheel changer, selected the item on the left colum and it says that there is nothing to work on when you click on the right column

My appologies everyone, as it turns out I was buying 16 rims and trying to put 17 tires on them. I have it all situated now, thank you for your help and quick replies.

If you are having trouble with oversized tyre's you'll need to enable that option in you're game options in the menu before you start the game Spock.

If you use mods like this one you'll need that option enabled. :stern:

I have a similar problem. I copied the rim size and tire size of the car to a T. This is the third car I'm working on and I'm trying to be generous by giving them brand new tires. However the new tires won't fit on the rims. And here's the confusing part. The old tires, same exact size and everything, fits on the new rim. Literally the only difference is the wear. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

hello.
first of all, I don't recommend that you put parts on the car that it hasn't ordered, because they won't pay for them, and you will lose money.

On the other hand, I believe that each car has its own model of rims and tyres, and will not allow you to fit other models (at least in my experience).

I've only had problems with wheels when I've made a mistake, and I wasn't putting the right part on. look at the 3 parameters.

on the other hand, it can happen that you have other rims and tyres in the inventory, from previous orders, or from a box, and when you go to mount them, you are not selecting the part you want, but from the previous ones.

luck!

Or, if you have crappy eyesight like me... you're making a mistake on rim diameter. The store defaults to R16 so, you need to change it every time you go to buy either tires or rims to be sure you have the correct Rim diameter. That's the ONLY reason a tire wouldn't go onto a rim... except if the tire is out of bounds on sizes and you don't have 'Unrealistic wheel size' enabled in game options / settings. Me personally, I have a hard time seeing the difference between a 6 and 8 in the game unless I move up close to my monitor.

yes, I also find it difficult to distinguish some numbers and letters. :)

Thanks for the tip. I thought I'd gain extra money for doing extra things, but I appreciate the note saying that's not the case. I'll keep this in mind from now on.
