Has the driving been tested after manual config changes to show the cars drive better..?
Nice work... It may not be "the" problem, but looks to be "a" problem.
Cheers..!
Yes when I added the Slicks in the Car's Config File it did not Spin Out anymore the Traction was acting just like Slicks do, they grabbed perfectly.
If you look at the Burn Out Marks on the pavement they get wider if the Car's Config Tires are Wider.
If the Car's Config has the Vintage Tires listed, you can install the Slicks as Wide as you want and nothing changes and the Car will Spin to no end because it still thinks that it has the Vintage Tires installed.
When you install a Tire option, the game should report that to the Config File, but it does not.
I can get a very solid Gripp now with 900 or more Horse power, no more spinning out when it shifts Gears.
Oh by the way Thank You for those Tachs, they are awesome!
I am now using them instead of the Boring default ones.
I really hate touching configs, but in this case I would love to try this out.
The car I want to test is a tuned Bolt Chapman @ 463 PS. It has vintage 2 tires, 205/75/R15. I want to use slick 2 tires on bigger rims instead.
Just to be sure, because I don't want to mess it up - in my BoltChapman folder there are 2 config files - config and config1. Which one should be changed, config1 I guess? Thx.
[3_wheels]
frontWheelMaxSize=0.3262
rim=rim_25B
rimSize=16 "or larger 17 or larger whatever size you want"
tire=tire_race_2
tireSize=70
wheelWidth=205
[4_wheels_rear]
rearWheelMaxSize=0.3832
rim=rim_25B
rimSize=16 "or larger 17 or larger whatever size you want"
tire=tire_slick_2
tireSize=60
wheelWidth=255
This will also make the Car shoe up in the Show Room with these Tires as default and a good idea is to actully install thes Tire to match this Config.
I want to try out 2 different sets of tires/rims. I want to keep wheel size as big as the original ones, if possible.
1. Set - 255/60/R15, front race_2, rear slick_2
2. Set - 285/40/R18, front race_2, rear slick_2
I have no idea if those wheels really make sense, but Ill try them out. Im done with the first Set, I really hope it will work.
And ofc, I didnt change config only. I'm actually using those wheels in the game too!
Because I have only single one question:
I can't believe it! I was able to drive properly... a US car.
Not only driving in a straight line, no. I was even able to steer, brake and stuff...
There is such a huge difference, I just cant describe it. I finished the track lap in less than a minute (on the first try, second lap!), although I did so many mistakes. Ive never had such lap times with that car before, not even close!

jjeff1955, mate, thank you very much for sharing this with us! I really really hope devs will fix it! I dont know, if I have to change manually the config files of all my cars.... And it feels somehow wrong, we are not supposed to do these things. But it's so nice! :)
P.S Red dot please fix this I am sure alot of people will want it done
========================================================================
Yes exactly, Red Dot needs to look into this for us, When I change my Tires with in the Game, You would think that is would automatically change the game's internal settings to accommodate those Tire changes and give the performance change for that Cars.
Manually changing the Config is not a good thing, because then all of the other same Cars will have different Tires and the Config is going to Lie to that car telling it that it has the Same Slick Tires and Rim Sizes from the Config file.
Even the built in default cars do not change their config settings from within the Game.
I think that the CMS 2015 Game did allow on the fly Tire and Rim changes on without having to change the Configs, and the Tire Grip was achieved.
The Car Configs do also change the Car's in the Show Room Tires according to what it has in the Config File. Messing with the Config files can cause the game to crash if you make a mistake in the entries as I have done that myself, had Showroom Cars floating over a Wheatfield with no Tires and Rims with Floating Lug Nuts due to a missing under Score or description misspelled line.
Agreed its definitely something to look into. I wonder if Fullysic can have a chat to red dot?
So... The game is definitely *not* updating configs when I change these same tires in the shop.
So... Ya. Maybe we can get this basic functionality fixed...?
Nice work jjeff... Cheers..!
But even if I use the correct values and tire/rim names I still end up floating in the field sometimes. Then I have to delete the whole file, use the back up of the original config, change absoultely the same things the same way and it suddenly works.. Maybe there are some blank spaces involved which are causing this... Anyway.
It is interesting how the car reacts if you are using 4 slicks or 2 racing tires (front) and 2 slicks (rear). With the racing tires car is really stable when turning. But you have to break early. When using slicks only car is more unstable, but turning is more easily. With my tuned Reptilia (the 1 carb version) I managed to get better lap times with 4 slicks than with 2 racing tires and 2 slicks.
