Sakura Moon found in junkyard
Hello,
i found this Sakura Moon in the junkyard yesturday, it was in really bad condition with a lot of missing parts, especially in the engine. I bouth it as well because it had just 72.000 Km and i payed it 11.000 $. In your experiece, how much could i earn if i restore this car with all new parts (except body, that i cannot restore yet)? I don’t need an exact aumont of money, just a “more or less”.

The engine is a I4 DOHC Turbocharged (180 HP), is there any other car with this same exact engine type that i could buy and cannibalize?

I sold mine over 105k fully restored

Cut / cut /cut

So maybe yours may sell for 80k$ to 85k$ ?

Cut / cut / cut

Anyway, post your results, I'm interesetd to see what will be your selling price in your case ;-)

I have found yesterday a sakura moon too, mine is a bit worse, ~117k km, bought it for 11300. Ill finish restoring it later. Im using all the tuning parts possible and most expensive tires. I guess it could reach a value of 100k or more too - the more expensive parts you use, the higher the value and the net profit. Later will write about it.

But Im a bit disappointed by my last junkyard visit - there were 3 bolt atlantas and all 3 had higher prices than their real values... And one had even 350+k km. I find Barn visits somehow more enjoyable. Cars there are in better condition and usually their price is much lower than their value. So you can make a profit even if you buy the car and just sell it again.

Thanx for the answer @BonPadre. Your car is way in better conditions than mine: mine misses almost all the engine (well: the whole engine, since i broke both the engine block and the gear box, trying to repair them), 70% of the body parts (hood, car doors and so on). I calculated around the whole price that i already paid, for the missing parts so i think i will pay around 30.000 $ included car and parts. If i sell it at 80.000 (hopefully), i earn the 300% of my costs. If so, i can do it. Of course, i will pay some visit to the junkyard for an I4 engine block, head and gear box. At least. It’s just more or less a normal I4 engine with a turbocompressor, i think it will not so expensive.

For now i won’t add tuning parts to my car, because tuning is unbalanced IMO, and i don’t want sell a car that is to weak for the engine. But it’s just me, of course you can play as you wish;)

Since the spawn is random, i belive that this is a matter of luck: usually in junkyard i find from 250.000 up to 350.000 Km old car, that i buy (if the price is reasonable), just for the parts and i sell the body as it is. I don’t care if i am loosing money: if i can repair the parts, i will mount them on a better car for very low price. I need lot of “normal” parts (shock absorber, brakes and so on), and instead to serach for them in the piles, i found them already on a car.

Maybe my technique is not the “ultimate one”, i am still learning what is good and what is not, for now i find that i can manage CMS in this way, later... who knows?

@Martin
I wish I could send you parts lol... the I4's are the one I have in excess... I struggle way more with V8 and V8 OHC parts, and I6 B parts too...

And anyway, I'm very pleased with the "non meta" we currently have with the game as there are more ways than just one to be successfull in the game.

I mix a lot of various ways to do things.
- Fully restored low Km cars from the auction for big incomes
- Some fully restored cars from junkyard if Km is between 100'000km and 250'000km
- Junk cars from junkyard (+250'000km) with low % parts but functionning cars
- And many jobs with low quality parts needed to still TRY (keyword is try lol) to make use of used parts.

All those allowed me to always have a big nice money cushion for doing whatever I wanted and even taking few risks early game... now unfortunately the "risk" feeling is gone :-/

That's why I never understand the need to rush to endgame... I find that having the lvl35 unlocks really take away a big part of the fun from the game... since there you can't do anything wrong anymore...

EDIT : damn I even reached lvl50 without noticing.... if it weren't from the map in my inventory lol...

Well, if dev will implement multi, we could work toghether, a day...

I don’t understand the need to rush in this game, too: CMS has no end, if for “end” we could say “kill the last huge boss and the Story ends happily”. I saw on Youtube some video in wich the youtuber had lvl 100+. I beleve this game ends when you are sick of it. There’s always a way to keep your interest on: try to maximize your profit just change 1-2 parts; see what happen mounting or dismounting tuning parts, give yourself a certain goal, sach as: “my car is 200 HP and i want to build an engine that is 243 HP, no more, no less”. When devs will implement the engine swap, there will endless possibility if the tuning room will works properly too... When you reach a certain lvl, money are not a problem anymore, so you can keep your focus on what you relly want.
Do you want to specialize yourself in a certain group of car, a certain brand, a certain engine? With the new car that will be add (and the mods too), in some mounths you have huge possibilityes to customize whatever you vant.

And you want to rush? IMO No way...

Well, Im iterested in making as much profit as I can so I can buy and restore as much cars I can. I dont care if tuning parts are - as u call them "unabalanced" (whatever you mean with it..) - I only care about maximizing profit. Thats why Im usuing best and most expensive parts available before selling a car.

EDIT: and ofc Im interested in keeping some of the cars I love and I already rebuilt.

If you wish to maximize your profit, it’s ok: do whatever you like to have fun and reach your game goals, no questions. :)

IMO tuning is umbalanced because we can mount a very powerful engine in a certain car without making some corrections. For exemple: you have a car with an engine that have 200 HP and you can tuning it to reach 350 HP. Just for the exemple. You mount this monster to your car but since you cannot mount spoilers and/or lighter (heavier) parts, your car is undriveable. You cannot even balance it in the tuning room, atm. That’s the reason why now i say “unbalanced”. If you like, you can mount powerful parts: it’s not my problem and enjoy your gameplay, but i don’t wanna do it until i can fine tuning my car, in my own game. :)

Yo, fair point, nothing against it ;)

And here is my Sakura:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1217843523

Some Data:
KM: 116 619 Old Value: 11 182 $ Old Price payed: 11 298 $ Tuning and repairs: 36 329 $ Current Value: 115 936 $ Net Profit: 115 936 - 11 298 - 36 329 = 68 309 $
I even "wasted" 1000 $ for painting it, because, profit or not, selling a fully restored "clown car" (i.e. not painted) is a crime IMHO.
Cheers! :)

300 HP. Wow! Beautiful piece of iron ;)
m3c0 Dec 1, 2017 @ 12:46pm
Affirmative! A very nice car, just managed to go below a minute on the track. Better lap time is possible for sure, but with a more skilled driver, I guess :)

Is it even possible to loose money on a fully restored car?
Martin O'Connor Dec 1, 2017 @ 7:31pm
@SlayerOne Of course not, i exaggerated...
I repaired my Sakura Moon: i dunno why but the intern of the car are still at 17%, even if i bought new seats and drive wheel. Of course the shell is at 30% condition. All other parts are 100%.

Very sorry but i cannot take pics, dunno why :O

I sold it at 81.191 $ with 5714 $ restore bonus. I payed for the car 11.000 $ and i payed around 20.000 for the new parts. Unfortunately i bought a new engine block, since i broke 2 of them, trying to repair them. Around 50.000 $ earned. Very good! At least, very good for me;)

I drove it just a little and i loved the engine’s sound.

@ Martin O'Connor

did you try to clean it? Cleaning a car gives you extra cash, and I think it will raise your percentage! Im not 100% sure though, because Im always cleaning the cars without thinking much about it:) But I think this could be a reason for the low %.
