How to identify rare cars?
Anyway to know if a car is rare when going through barns and junkyards? Do the decals show if the car is rusted? is there a list online?

There isn't any "rare" ones I've seen, just lower mileage ones or ones that are in better condition. Every car I've bought is a standard solid color. You can put the livery of your choice on once you unlock the paint shop.

Rarity isn't really a thing as all cars have the roughly the same change to appear (if it all on certain locations). Some come up a bit more than others but that really isn't the big thing.

Engine variants are, that is turbo or supercharged. So always check the engine. Some cars with V8 OHV come as 1-carb or 2-carb, the latter being the "rarer".
Dodge DLC also adds MAG and 6P variants (also to other than Dodge cars).

And since we don't (yet, without using editor) have engine swap option, it's the rarer/better engine you'll want.
