So they only had two possibilites to fix that: One was lowereing the value of the car, if they were sold, but that would had affect the selling price of every restored car. Or heighten the buying price at the auctions, which was the easier way.
The bad side effect of this is, that some cars do not have the value to be sold after buying through auction and being restored to 100%. Even though with the level 50 perk lucky guy you almost have only one or two parts, which could not be repaired to 100%, you get no financial reward mirroring the work you have done. If you have any profit, it will be almost the same as fix a custom order with transmission problems...
So for me the auction house is really a place for hunting some special cars, which are not available at the junkyard or at the car salon. Because I try to get the lowest mileage for every car I keep for owning, the barn finds are nothing I can trust.
For me the best finds to restore and to sell for profit are at the junkyard - there you can get Sakura Moon under 100 000 km that give you a selling value up to 80 000 $, or the Katagiri Katsumoto xTek with 100 000 -150 000 km with the same value. The Calliope or the Mazda RX-7 under 200 000 are up to 100 000 $ depending on the rims.
Salem Flamo, Kieran, Spectre Fastback, the normal Katagiri, and all I6 B powered cars should be left aside, they're just a waste of money, if you want to sell them. They should only be bought, if you want to keep them in your collection......
