What with this game?
This is crazy. Why is this version making me wait so friggin long to start restoring cars? There's no ability to repair the main body, and the perk you buy with experience that says repair body panels is taking forever to unlock. This makes no sense. I can't buy a car and restore it to brand new because I can't fix the rust. The last version didn't make me fix crap for so long, I'm getting fed up with it. If anyone can help me clear up why it's like this I would really appreciate it.

Because it was designed that way? Im not sure what kind of response you would accept

Yeah, unfortunately it is something you have to wait to do until you hit a certain level. Personally I don't mind it too much though since you have the option of buying panels to restore a car, it's just unlocking the welder though that takes a long time to repair the main body.

Would like to have been able to send the car out for "repairs" on the main body at a premium but I guess it's all part of the gameplay.

I suggest they need a sandbox mode, that starts the game with a million or so dollars, everything unlocked and full sized garage. they don't even need to change any of the game code. just start a sandbox game and no bother with the career mode.

Make a new profile named cms2018promo
Start a new game.

You start at level 45 with enough xp points to unlock everything and 500k bucks.
You can change the name of the profile later in C:\users\NAME\appdata\locallow\red dot games\car mechanic simulator 2018\name.txt

Technically that is a cheat but it qualifies as sandbox mode.

Thanks for all the input guys. Personally, I like doing games without cheating as each achievment has more satisfaction to it. Mostly I was wondering if repairing the main body was a function I had simply not been able to locate in the garage, and I was hoping someone would say "Here, click on this and you can do it..." But as that is not the case, I'll just keep pounding away at it. Having done the previous version so completely, I feel I'm not really learning anything, just slogging, I was just getting frustrated.

I would say that the satisfaction of hitting level 30 and unlocking welding tool ect. was pretty high, and makes me please more to restore junkyard cars to 100% :)

I totally agree.
Unlocking welding and painting the usual way in a campaign is much more satisfying.
I only hinted at the cheat because SlayerOne was asking for a sandbox mode which as mentioned already exists.

I personally have 15 almost repaired cars in my parking lots which are waiting for me to hit level 30 to have welding, painting and interior design done.

I suppose it's good that I know where I have to get to, but level 30 is kind of crazy. I got it, I know how to fix the cars, I know how to diagnose etc etc..... I learnt most of that in the previous version, all that was required was to learn the new features in this game, not fix garbage cars for an entire week. I have to admit, my enthusiasm for this new version is waning rather quickly.
