That Engine only accepts the C series Pistons and Rings. I have had no problems at all with OHV C Engines accepting these Pistons & Rings. Normal Pistons will not work.
I hope this Helps you out a bit.

Riddle me this... I bought some V8 OHV C pistons from the tune up shop, but the V8 OHV C block will not accept them. What would the reason for that be?

UPDATE:

The V8 OHV C engine block seems to be rejecting all V8 OHC pistons, regardless of what shop I buy them from. It simply doesn't show them as an install option, only the old worn out standard pistons.

Same for me. The OHV C pistons can not be installed.

Hello mde2506 my friend, I will check on these C Pistons later today and see if they are still working for me, maybe something has changed in the last few updates, I will post an update later on. Thanks for heads up.

Seems this is still happening

I cannot understand why i cannot use OHV C pistons with the OHV C engine.

What are you talking about? I'm pretty sure that OHV C is the usual OHV Magnum/6-pack engine block, it uses usual pistons and rings, OHV F variants of cam chain and pushrods, yellow V8 oil filter and non-repairable air filter base/cover (OHV E/F, I think). OHV C pistons are only used in one of the jeeps (the V8 hemi(?) with two spark plugs per cylinder) and the new OHV Hemi engines, afaik.

Keep in mind, all these A-B-C-D-E-F-etc are not really "part packs". I've noticed a snippet of code in the assembly converting whatever_part_name_2(3,4,5...) into B-C-D... stuff. It just means that they were probably made in this order or something like that. Naming system is kinda awful. =)

If it is a 6 pack engine it takes standard pistons. If it a hemi engine it takes piston c. Both engines share a block and other components but the pistons are build based.

Yes, yesterday I was restoring a Plymouth Roadrunner 426 HEMI and I had to buy those C pistons for it.

If restoring a Plymouth Roadrunner 426 HEMI and you have the engine on the engine stand it will only allow the standard pistons to be installed. If you put the block in the car first then you can mount the C pistons....

The specifics we are talking about is a V8 OHV C block, not taking V8 OHV C pistons. Not just any OHV C block. V8 seems to be the problem.

the V8 OHV C block is used in multiple engines. When used in the hemi engine it takes "C" pistons. When used in the other engines (such as the 6 pack) it takes standard pistons.

Really? I didnt know that. And yes, I dont use the engine stand, my engine was in the car. Maybe thats because game doesn't know if that particular engine on the stand is "connected" to a 426 HEMI car.
