The locked feature on the engine stand
Seriously???
Like I said, I'm not using it now myself... I don't know what I'd use it for at the moment since I'm just repairing people's cars.
for a start you wouldnt need to raise the car to access the bottom of the engine you can dismantle what you need and replace the parts.
Just because you dont use it doesnt mean it is useless
So, as someone who uses it, does it save you time? I'm curious because I'd imagine you have to lift the car to remove the drive shaft and transmission before using it? Then lower the car to use the crane? I know I ususally use the lift a few times between accessing the top & bottom, but the lifts are fast. Is it hard to go back to the old way once you start using the stand/crane?
On regular jobs and restorations it saves a lot of time. Being able to turn the engine upside down and fit everything in, button up the oil pan and then turn it over and finish the top is really nice.
And then seeing the finished engine on the stand. Rather satisfying that.
as most of the cars i restored had the v8 ohv engine i used to build the engines on the stand as i found the parts in the junkyard.
ah yeah that thing i thougth it was called an engine stand since it say that when you hover youre mouse over it, and a crate is usualy referring to a wooden box or somthing like that but yes then i see what this is about.
