Escape button not working

I dismantled some parts, and when i want to exit the car screen nothing works. There also is no transparency of the car. So i am stuck there, because when i close the game via windows it wont save my game. Help please!

No, sorry didn't find anything ... Only restart the game and resume everything.

I had this bug a few weeks back, i found out that if i minimised steam client then it worked. also i turned off the steam overlay in the steam settings just to make sure and its all fine

try minimising the steam client if that dont work, turn steam overlay off

I've found a way out of the ESC bug.
Swipe over your keyboard from Q to Enter but not to fast.
You will open some menus including the Buying screen and the inventory.
When ESCing out of these menus you might get the menu to save and get back to main menu.
This doesn't work always, but after two or three times it should pop up.

I had the ESC bug after putting in a driveshaft. I found this thread, disabled steam overlay (which still worked after applying)...

However- i did run my fingers from q to enter and after a few times the menu like when test driving a car- and you press esc to go back to the garage- comes up. done.





I ALSO NOTICE THIS BUG HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE RELEASE WHY HASNT IT BEEN FIXED???

...That was for the developers, not shouting. :D

Okay, I'm actually getting tired of this bug, I'm in a 2 hour session and I can't exit out of the part mount mode to save my game, devs, fix this bullcrap. None of the "fixes" are working and I'm about to just exit out and stop playing the game. This has happened to me too many times now

Have you tried doing a "Clean Install" after "Complete Uninstall" to see if solves the issue? Also, since it's a keyboard specific issue, my first attempt would be to uninstall the keyboard driver and re-install it.... just in case it's a keyboard driver corruption issue. And, if possibly you have access to another keyboard, try swapping out your keyboard to see if it might actually be a problem with sticky keys or worn key sensors.

Also.... I'd recommend R-click'ing and select settings\save from the popup pie menu often so you don't lose too much progress if \ when this issue happens.
