Escape button not working

I dismantled some parts, and when i want to exit the car screen nothing works. There also is no transparency of the car. So i am stuck there, because when i close the game via windows it wont save my game. Help please!

Just randomly happened to me too. This bug has been in the game since launch and reported to the devs multiple times and yet it's still happening. I'm about to lose 2 hours of progress because none of these fixes worked for me. FIX THIS BUG WTF ITS BEEN ALMOST 4 YEARS

If the devs won't or can't fix this issue, at least make the save function accessible while doing other things. This is absolutely insane that a gamebreaking bug like this, that the devs know about, hasn't been fixed or at least worked around.

Swipe over your keyboard from Q to Enter but not to fast.
You will open some menus including the Buying screen and the inventory.
When ESCing out of these menus you might get the menu to save and get back to main menu.
This doesn't work always, but after two or three times it should pop up.

I know I'm a few years late but I picked this game up a day ago and I've been hooked. Got stuck in overview mode with no way out and this saved me! Thank you very much!!!

Save OFTEN!! Can't express this enough as it's a general rule of thumb for ANY / ALL games. In-game you can R-click to bring up a pie menu, choose settings, and Save. This can be done most anytime you're in the shop working.......so you don't have to Esc, Save & exit to main menu.

I tried this and then my mouse wouldn’t work, along with the esc button

Just something I've found to get past this issue.

Click 'T' then 'I' Quickly, You should be in the tablet now.
Hit 'Esc' to back out, should be in the Inventory Screen now.
Hit 'Esc' again to hide the Inventory.
Hit 'Esc' again and the 'Menu' to Save and Quit should pop up.
