Move the engine crane to the car that you want to build the engine for.
1. Pull out the old engine.
2. Install a new engine block in the car.
3. Pull out the engine block using crane.
4. Click the engine stand, choose mount engine, choose the engine with an empty block.
5. Start building ☺

Nah man) you dont understand me, i try to tell that the i want put a V8OHV engine in the v4 car, i'd want to now how do this, and i want how to install a supercharged engine))

as far as I know you cant. You can only replace the engine that is currently in the car not upgrade a V4 to a V8

And the dev took free days leaving the tuning/engine swap part of the game unfinished, not even announced for this month so it's far from becoming a reality

this will probably done as a DLC not as a patch.

And in all reality, that is what I myself expect. I was a bit suprised by everybody whining about "you showed performance parts in the vids but no performance parts in the game? WTF?" statements.

Granted, if those items were ment for a DLC, then they should have taken more care in what they shown, or labeled the vids as spoilers or even "not all features shown available apon release" or something.

Anyway, getting off the subject. In the base game I kinda expected at least engine swapping and the dyno to be working because well, engine swapping is very common and the dyno is in the base game.

As for DLC's, I expected the tuners pack and performance parts to be DLC's. I mean, lets face reality here people. The game devs need to have something (besides car packs) in order to prolong the life of the game, and the base game for $20 is actually dirt cheap.

But what about the fact you can find tuned parts in the junkyard ? ( but not actually put them on the cars)

from what i understood playing the game, they have yet to unlock the "build engine from scratch function" on the engine crane. And i don't mean the whole "it will come with dlc thing".

It was said that we would be able to build engines from ground up, and store them for future use. This is what that locked function is expected to be. Somehow we gotta wait for the devs to return from vacations to clarify that, but i find really annoying that we can't do stuff like that right from the start...

Can't really blame the Devs for having a break they have been doing really well for the last 2 weeks 1 or 2 patches a day, they have families to see and tired eyes and minds make for big mistakes
