Why does youtubers play the game fine with no issue but us on the other hand is bug city.

Black screens are codec bugs, for quiete a few of us it helped if you install K-Lite Codec pack for win 7 or Windows Media Feature for Win 10, if you still black screen after that, you might have a codec on your comp thats blocking the game somehow.

Hm update the graphics driver , DirectX, Microsoft Frameworks. What else could he update?
Try setting quality to medium. Perhaps you could try to set your card to absolutly low and activate all options step by step at the crash.

Video editing? Sure, they're having far fewer problems now with actually locking up & black screens, but so am I. Before those things were patched out, the YouTube videos I watched had players very often locking up & crashing, editing that part out, then coming back in the game discussing their crash.

You even have black screen, when you are doing oil change?

I made already several oil changes without any black screen. Sounds like something is not working well at your system.

Oh yes I have i7-6700K, Strix GTX 960 4 GB, 16 GB DDR4, Win7 SP1 x64 Ultimate
And I run on medium setting, full screen, 1920x1080, vSync on

I feel like the devs spent more time optimizing weaker cards and processors than the higher end ones. I have an AMD FX4300 and a GTX 1050 and can play ultra without issues, other than lag spikes when turning around due to the motion blur

its not down to the pc your using. you can go spend countless amount of money on a new rig just to incounter the same black screen bug, i know this dont help but just wait a while for the devs to fix what needs to be fixed.
im playing this on the most ungame friendly pc a hp envy all in one, and the game works ok to must level. i still hit a few bugs from time to time, like mission cars the old crash when loading from junk yard, but then i have adjusted by saving my game after i do things so ill take a wheel of fix the brakes put wheel back on then save.
it takes seconds to save just face away from the car right click mouse slide up and click, its simply simple.

if you are able to play other games on your rig just fine i really wouldn't go changing your graphic card settings.

Lots of people can play the game fine without any issues and my computer is having issues when i change oil.

I'm running on ultra without any major bugs, only slight slowdowns when there are a lot of cars in the scene like on my parking lot.
Nothing gamebraking, had to put back 1 or 2 cars waiting for patches, but nothing that wasn't solved 1-2 days later.
And I'm still playing the same save from the beginning.

amd 4350 4x4,2GHz
NVidia GTX 1050TI 4GB
24GB DDR3 Ram
A consumer-grade SATA HDD where the game is located

Not exactly high end...the whole system was pretty cheap, all in all well under 1000€ when the parts were new. probably more like 600-700€, if at all...I build everything myself, though, which can save a lot of moneys...

It's called the magic of editing. I was GreyStillPlays, and he has a lot of jump cuts, assuming they are when he runs into a bug or issue for the most part.
