What is a warehouse?
The title says it all. Is there any difference to the inventory? Can I transfer parts into the warehouse so they don't show up in my inventory? If so, how?

why would you want to do this - I am missing the point of this warehouse - seems like your storing things somewhere else just making you go and get it when you need it.
Does you inventory have a finite capacity?

Congrats, you found a thread from august 2017 :) The point is, the game is called "simulator" and should have at least some kind of reference to real life. And warehouses exist in real life, you know. The Inventory is your virtual pocket. Do you think real mechanics are able to carry engine blocks or gearboxes in their pockets? I doubt it.

And by the way you should really want to keep your invenotry as clean as possible. The more items you have there, the more laggy will be your game.

There's is probably a limit for the personal inventory, but as far as I can tell, it is very, very large. And I belive that this is actually the problem that the Warehouse helps to solve.
"But how come a near infinite inventory is a problem? Shouldn`t be the other way around?" You may ask.

Yes, but if you are trying keep the special parts (higher quality and performance) that you receive and buy, during mid game and after, you list of items for when you are assembling your car gets very, busy, specially if you have "special" spark plugs, pistons, filters, and these common items.
The warehouse is a place where you can keep them away so your life to be easier and for the items for the current car that you are working on to be quickly available and not mixed up when you are putting things back together.
Other than the game lag issues pointed out by m3c0, spares management in my opinion is entirely down to individual preference. Personally, I clear my inventory after every order, either by selling or warehousing, for four reasons:

a. it prevents me fitting a replacement part that is good/green condition but below the minimum parts condition on the order;
b. it avoids the other common error of fitting a superior part as a replacement (such as a performance part);
c. it gives me a few extra (albeit imaginary) beer tokens by selling off what I can't repair or don't want;
d. it's necessary to enable me to calculate profit margins on restorations.

But that's just the way I play it
