Secret Car?

Hi.

I have been playing the game for some time now, and I've noticed that the Elenti Callope is EXTREMELY hard to find. Does anybody know how to find it?

!!!!!!!! I did some investimagating and found that it's locked to only appear in the "salon" as a new car. As the Salon is not yet available, this car isn't yet available, I adjusted the config to make it show up in the junkyard so I can poke it...

You can see it in the model editor, it's pretty much a Renault Clio V6, as Agrimes said, it seems to be locked right now. Spent about an hour the other day refreshing the Auto Auction to see if I could find some different cars, no luck.

I was looking it over, might be locked because it clips bad in the rear engine bay and needs a bit more work.

I did score one by making it spawn in the junkyard, it is impossible to work on the engine though because the colliders aren't working right. =\

What's up with the salon? How does that work?

I think the Salon will be like a car dealership where you can buy brand new cars.

The whole reason I think it will be unlocked with the Tuning DLC is at the moment it serves no purpose. You're not going to buy a brand new car to work on, and you won't buy a brand new car to just turn around and sell.

SteamApps/common/car mechanic simulator 2018/cms2018_data/streamingassets/assets

Find the car folder you want to modify, enter it and find the config.txt. Open that and find the part near the top where it says "allowedPlaces=Salon" and add ",auction,junkyard".

I can't take credit as someone else in the forums found it first! :D But you can also create a new config file titled "config1.txt." and you can combine it with the ingame editor to make new versions of existing cars! :D For example when the game first came out I made a V8 RX-7 so the car was actually useable after the rotary bug ;)

Right now I advise to not change the configs and/or edit the cars via the editor. As we see there are lots of bugs with cars, that should work at release causing black screens, savegame corruption..... it's good to know what's coming but as long as you want to build up a profile I suggest to not experiment with unfinished things and force the game to include them. These things are locked for a reason :)

But anyways, just my thoughts about this

It should be fairly okay :D I've only added my RX-7 and everything is reversible with backups made :)
