Am i just stupid or is just the game? When i have a V8 OHV,i want to supercharger it,and buy everything that is OHV. But it wont let me install a supercharger. Had the same problem in CMS15 also, but didn't figure it out...

In CMS15 you had to do an "engine swap" with F1 I think to make it recognize it needed the supercharger parts. I usually stripped the engine down then did an "empty swap" choosing the supercharged engine. I don't believe they have that customization unlocked in CMS18 yet though.

u can go into cms18 editor and select the car and at the top theres an engine tab click that then select the engine u want (disclaimer there are no hoods with cut outs for superchargers yet so youll have to remove it or itll look wierd)

You're not the only one. i can't put the supercharger intake manifold v8 ohv onto the v8 ohv engine, so i'm thinking bug?

I dont think you will be able to do that.
I think it would require a feature called "engine change". You could do that in previous CMS games so i would say it will be available soon.
A similar change might be to go from single carb to dual carb setup and i dont think that will work with the "engine change" feature i mention.

They have to have some mechanism to stop people adding any part to any other part or someone like me would put v8 ohv heads on a v6 block ... would that work ?

Anyways, i says it just not available yet. You should be able to select "engine change" from a menu then to buy it pre built or build it yourself with normal or HP parts. HP parts are here yet either !
Oh, I need to say i cant confirm it they will do any of this for 2018.

use the editor and if u dont know how to use it just select a car u dont care about and test with that and nothing is put in the game until u hit save

It is frustrating because you should be able to just take any V8 block OHV and be able to just throw a supercharger intake on it. That is the whole point of being a mechanics is to be able to upgrade parts on a engine. UGH!!!! I just sell that engine I just completely rebuild from a 1 Carb only to find out that the software will not allow me to put the supercharger on it...

You have to completely pull out the engine, go to the engine stand and click on it. Then "add engine to crate" which will put the engine you pulled out on the stand. Strip it completely down removing all components after which you can repair them at the workbench. Next click on the engine stand again and choose "create new engine." Scroll through the list to get to the V8 OHV Supercharged and select it. Now click on the spot in the air where the engine should be on the stand select add parts. Place engine block and start building your V8 OHV Supercharged engine.

*Note*** you have to have leveled up enough to unlock the use of the Engine Stand. It will show up in your garage but, you can't actually build engines on it yet till you get leveled up a bit. Go to the toolbox and click it to spend your leveling points and look for appropriate options.

Exactly what Mardoin69 said. Unfortunately you can't just just swap the intake, it has to be a supercharged engine from the start, even though it's mostly the same parts.

Right, click on the engine stand and create the engine from scratch.
