Screw, nuts and bolts should be parts, too.
I find the experience of unscrewing shiny bolts, nuts and such from a completely rust component to be a painful experience.

It would also add a nice touch to the experience if unscrewing of rusty bolts, etc, took a bit longer to unscrew. Another alternative to this addition could be that of adding force to the bolt before you start to unscrew it - by the use of your mouse in some way. With the requirement of a rapid movement of the mouse of some kind, maybe.

I actually agree but for another reason it adds to the fun of making a car all new again you pull out all the rusty old bolts and stick new ones in

It doesn't need to be that complicated. They could simply place these components in numetric terms without a simulated image in the game. Sort of like X number of good, and X number of bad bolts, screws, etc.
