I'm having problems with coil whine (vsync?)
I have a GTX 1070 and I'm experiencing coil whine/noise in-game which (for me) only occur when Vsync is off.
Main problem is that Vsync is "on" in the game menu and even if I choose "Force Vsync" in the Nvidia graphics setting it still gives off the same excessive whine/noise in-game.

This is the only game where "forced vsync" doesn't work. Is there anything I can do about it?

Ah so that's what that noise is. My GTX980 has been making a horrid whine / screeching noise that goes up and down in volume / tone when moving around the garage. This is the only game that has caused this noise, although I'm sure it'll be patched out soon enough.

Same thing (1080), not super loud but it's a bit weird/annoying.

Same thing Titan XP. The noise gets loader when i look directly at a car and less so when i look away. The card do have coilwhine in other games but only if above 250+ fps, so i always have fps limit set to 165 to match my monitor refreshrate. Never experienced coilwhine like in this game before.

im running an nvidea geforce 940mx in a laptop with no noise, i wonder if its because i am running a laptop and not a full sized rig

There are plenty of topics on coil whine on the internet and in general it is not an indicator that the card is faulty.

The problem is that in other games I experience coil whine I use Vsync to reduce it or even remove it. This game has a Vsync-option but it doesn't work. I think the game doesnt use use "true" fullscreen like in other games I've used Vsync on to reduce coil noise.

The latest patch (or patches) since my last post seems to have reduced coil whine by at least 95%. :)

Got same issues with me 1070 its insanly loud noise have to have my big noisecanceling headset on. its much more noise on cms2018 than on any of my other 200 games hehe.
i have tested to turn off vsync and it has the same sick sound on that as with vsync on.

1080 here and can confirm the same, although it's not too bad. But it's there lol

And it's back..Was probably not the patches that alleviated the sound.
Apparently for some people the Coil Whine can reduce over time and frequent use of the GPU.
In my case my card is just 4 months old.

Same here anyone else noticed how the game is getting steadly worse each patch... Now its nearly unplayable. (Gtx1080) here too..

It's still as bad as it ever was when I first posted this, and I don't know whether I'm just imagining it but I've noticed this noise when playing other games now too - I'm sure it didn't do that before I started playing this. It has probably always done it, but I can't help but feel that each time I play this game I'm damaging the card (I'm probably not though from what I've read online).

Is it just me, or did the last update really add to the coil whine? I was able to play with a reasonably quiet 1080TI just last Monday, but fired up the game just now and it just screams bloody murder to the point it's unplayable. Seems like degrading the settings to low and enabling V-sync help to quiet it, but that really stinks. Hope they fix whatever they just broke.

After I wrote this I thought to check for a driver update and sure enough one was available. Coil whine issue was resolved after updating. Not sure what changed to cause it, but the latest NVidia driver took care of it. :steamhappy:
