New Anglers Read This!

OK, I feel like I have to post this for the new folks. Follow this advice and you will not only get better at the game, but may save yourself from getting scolded by the more experience fishermen....and fisherwoman! We want you to succeed but the same questions keep coming up so here goes!

1) Take the tutorial!!! not only does this explain the functions of the game, but you get free stuff. It will take a little time , but it pays off and to be honest it will answer most of your questions.

2) Yes you will catch little fish at first and that will happen for awhile. You MUST crawl before you walk like in any game. Remember, you will catch a lot of different fish and even tho they may be small they count towards your rank. Oh ya you have a rank and a lvl....work on both!

3) Do not spend any gold you do not have to at first. Spend silver on available baits. Now this is important so pay attention. Use the available baits with different depths and hooks. Exhaust yourself and the baits with each hook and depth. This will help you lvl and help your rank. There is little to no need to spend gold the first few lvls on bait.

4) Save any bonus baits " baits you get from pearls etc to use while fishing with license" You will catch differnet fish and again...this will count towards rank. A good place to do this is in Dnieper.

5) Why is your line keep breaking? I cannot beieve this even comes up, but here is the deal. Your line can only take so much stress when you land bigger fish than it is rated for. First let off the left mouse button. You may need to apply energy. This increases the strenth of your catching ability. Use the energy by appying the space bar. Only use energy when you have to. They cost 1 gold per can and trust me you will need a lot of it before you know it. Later as you build mor rods you will see some come with the ability to apply up to 4 additional cans of energy. That means you are probably catching a monster....GOOD JOB!!!!!

6) Research your your rod selection before building new rods. Some are good for catching bigger fish, some are good to make bait rods. I will touch on that now. Long post I know , bear with me here.

7) Build a bait rod as soon as you can!!!! These babies really pay off while using in tournys. What makes a good bait rod??? When looking at available rod stats check the bonus capabilities at the bottom of the stat screen. I like to start off with a rod that has 5 bonus capabilities right from the start. This gives you a great jump on the build. My best bait rod currently has a 15 pecent bonus chance....Loving it.

8) Almost done lol....Stars! Ok, you have built a rod and now you can apply "stars to it". This is important because it is costly. Adding stars cost silver so know what you want to accomplish before spending your hard earned silver and gold...yes gold on it. You can apply stars one at a time. My advise is keep rerollong your first one until getting what you want before proceeding to the next one...remember this is costing you silver and each additional star cost more. You can "reroll" your stars as many times as you wish. Ok example say you appied all your stars and you are think You want more bonus stars. If you have two already you can click on them and freeze them. You can only freeze 2 stars at a time and each time you do it will cost 10 gold each to freeze them. This is why you should do your homework before building.

9) This is a free game. You do not have to spend acual money on it unless you want to. I always do the pig in a poke evey day because I spend tons of gold on expensive baits, build new rods all the time and change the stars on my rods. You don't have to....just my choice.
To get to pig in a poke, click on your gold button at the top right of your screen. The nightly deal will come up. If you have money on Steam you can purchase it.

10) Ok I think I covered most of what you need to get started. Also you will notice certain anglers with awsome ranks and lvls. Before asking about anything I covered her simply click on their name and thier profile will come up. Check thier corral or trophy fish catagory to see how they caught certain fish. Most times they are on a a mission to catch certain things. Please do not bother them with simple questions. Most of them are nice and will help, but also take to account they may be having a bad night or trouble accomplishing a goal.

Oh forgot one important thing. Log in for bonus every day. Once a week you will get a license. After you hit lvl 10 you get a license every day. Log in time for me is 7:00PM Central time in America.

Oh I doubt it man lol...this post was not intended to scold or cause issues, but to answer some questions and help new people get going. I hope they pinn this post so some of the more experienced anglers can post helpful hints from time to time.

New tip.....take rod or rods out of water first! If you are using the compass which you should be you can navigate it with the direction keys to the left of your number keys or buttons. I just now figured that out lol....this is very helpful instaed of using your fishing retrieval to do it. I feel like a noob! Ummm, well I am a noob...good luck everyone.

Nice post indeed. First thing I did was saving up bonus baits now... I used to spent them right after gettin them... Seems like I wasted the potential so far.

Its fine. I think we ahve all wasted time as there is not much in the way of english sites for this game. Even the pinned forums do not cover all the fish in some areas and now since there was an update it is worse. I tend to lean on the seasoned guys and gals for help lol.
Anyway more tips for befinners......
Unlock another rod slot as soon as you can. This allows you to use dufferent baits that can catch the same fish using two rods. It also helps using two rods for soup and tournys.
Also test out depths. Different fish can be caught on the same baits at different depths. And make a bait rod as soon as you can....very important.
Last for today. If there is grass on a map you can catch toads and frogs. They count towards rank as much as fish. Top depth and use flies or horse flies or even both. Really work the grass too....you will catch more than 1 size toad or frog and each time it happens, your rank goes up.

On the Amur map you can also catch a different species of frog from what you get on top (can't remember if its just one or two different kinds) in the grass on bottom depth.

A few questions relating to the above topic:

1) What activates the stars for the rods? When I click on the stars, a small window opens up with a padlock and a cost next to it, but the padlock is locked and clicking on the lock or the cost associated with it does nothing. What is missing? What enables the lock to unlock?

2) How does using multiple fishing poles help with fish soup? Please be specific. What I have discovered is, after several attempts, using multiple rods increases your risk of catching a duplicate fish... which of course... ends your fish soup round for that attempt.

3) Is there an english page for this game somewhere? While I have seen a non-english page for it, and is has provided a bit of help, an english version would prove more helpful. I have discussed a possible youtube channel series of helpful vids with a friend who does vids for a few games, but he is still considering it.
