Why cant they just patch the game and private servers so we can still play via private servers ?

505 had no reason to abandon this game the way they did. They have plenty of other games they have released so they are not entirely incompetent. They literally just did not care about this.

You can check the remod discord, gwog is working on making it playable on PC. So far it is somewhat playable with certain things like blueprints resetting upon logout. It is a WIP but he is slowly working at making it fully functional offline. You can see progress there.

Thanks. Joined and will be following the github. I just hope he hasn't given up. Looks like there hasn't been much progress for a month or so. Would need the protocols to work and keeping skill tree progress on login to make it really playable. Can't do much without upgraded weapons. I guess you could sit down and do a marathon playthrough without ever logging out. That would make for a fun weekend.

Abandoning the game like this puts me off ever buying another game from them, I dont buy games anymore when Devs have total control on any part of the game, because when they take their servers down, we cant play and I feel I have wasted my money, I shouldnt have to wait and see if someone creates a hack to keep the game running
