What are the point of the green gems?

I know keys are supposed to unlock a hidden level and the cards allow the player to capture a monster for the bestiary but i don't know what the purpose of the green gems are.

Are they just there for the player to have something more to do to get 100% and do nothing else?

Or do they unlock something else too?

Also, since i mentioned the bestiary, i have to ask the same thing, will something happen if i fill the bestiary or is it just there to give something else for the players to do?

Green gems and completing the bestiary doesn't unlock anything within the game, they only unlock a couple achievements.

Getting a green gem in a stage is like demonstrating you have played very well (picking enough coins), it's just that.

These tasks are not necessary for enjoying the game.

Good to know. I don't mind not getting them then. I'm literally missing one and one stage, but game beaten. I'm okay at 98%. I personally kinda hate gated content and the idea of a "SECRET SPECIAL TRUE ENDING," so...yeah. Still, like the game.

Well, they give me and my brother something to do, now that we saved Sachiro.

I still want to be able to lose balls and blame him for it!

is there a way to see which levels are missing gems?

There is, but I'm not able to reinstall at the moment to verify how it's indicated.

I know you see the gem info for a stage when you're standing on it in the selection map -- it may color in any monsters you've captured and gray out any that are still pending.

If you want to know whether you've got the gem in a level or not, just look at the level's ball icon on the map. It's blue if you don't have it and it's green if you do.
