Some of the "failings" are endings. There are actually more than six different "endings" to the game always have been, and some of the failing ones are pretty good actually and fun to watch. MOST of the ones where Simms disconnects you are not endings though, a few are though too. The deaths are endings if you let them die. Game is meant to be trial and error too though, for me I just catch all the augers and then watch the story in theatre mode, or when I got done and got a perfect game...back in 1992....I would just let them escape and watch the first part of the story, and then start over catch them up to the half way checkpoint (there is only one in the game) and then watch the rest of the story from there and just catch enough augers so the vampires wouldn't disconnect me right after you trap Tony from catching Kelly. You can do it either way and I think if you miss like 8 or more augers you get a disconnect..not positive on that note but it is a good one to keep in mind because, they do not let you miss that many before either the command center disconnects you or the vampires do/game over.
First of all, im 15 (yes young for this game), so dont expect me to know everything:
There are 7 endings in the game:
1) Cindy gets bitten by Jeff and Victor and Shiela disconnect you
2) Tony gets Kelly and Jeff disconnects the override
3) Kelly gets bitten by Sarah
4) Kelly gets bitten by Victor
5) Kelly gets bitten by Shiela
6) You get a perfect game and capture Kelly
7) You dont capture enough Augers so Victor and Sheila find out about the override and disconnect you.
As the user "Hell Naw!" said, SCAT disconnecting you because of not enough Augers or either Lisa, Ashley, Megan or Danny die isnt an ending, its just a failure.
Second of all, to win this game, do not watch the story, in my opinion thats kind of a distraction, if you get a perfect game you can watch most of the scenes in the Theatre which can be found in "The Basement" option of Night Traps main menu. A golden rule of mine is to pay minimal attention to the story.
Third, closely watch the "Captured" and "Possible" numbers at the bottom right of your screen. If you see the possible number go up, there is an auger somewhere but look quick.
Fourth and this is just a heads up but important for a perfect game, after the 29th auger capture, there are 2 augers that you cant capture but dont panic or retry just yet, watch when Danny goes into the basement, the 2 augers come out again, trap them then.
I think the key to playing this game is DO YOUR DAMN JOB! If you are watching the girls singing etc, you're not doing your job, you should be doing the rounds and checking for Augers. But also watch out for the house members looking suspicious.
