So why isn't Valve banning this game?

They're banning other games with sexual content but not his one.

Nobody has been banned as of yet as far as I know, but we've received the same notice other devs have received, and are working on a solution.

At the moment all games in question are still for sale; they've given us a grace period to resolve the issue.

Dissapponting to here they are targeting you. Just bought this on steam to support you further (had a copy since day one though).

Sucks steam are treating homosexuality the same as pedophila.

OP, if they do get treated differently maybe it's because they are different, one is creepy and depicting what is meant to appear as underage girls and the other is a tasteful dating sim full of consent and respect.

Is there an official statement to review for users about this incident and what will be the consequences if they take this game down? Will we still own and able to play it or will it be removed entirely, even from users who already own it?

Copying and pasting from the other thread:

Steam JUST sent us an email saying they may be rereviewing this new policy. They MAY send us a followup email if they DO decide anything needs to be changed, but for the time being, I think we're good.

I believe other targeted devs got sent the same email as well.

I'll update y'all if anything changes.

I'm not 100% positive on the answer to this, but Steam policy in general is to allow delisted games to still be downloaded and played by those who've already purchased them. If a game were removed for being in violation of Steam's guidelines, I don't know if that still applies. Nevertheless, were that to happen to COOT, we'd bring the game into compliance with the guidelines and so it shouldn't be an issue.

I would have thought censoring the game was enough. This game came with plenty of warnings. Seems like to me people need to pardon the phrase get the ♥♥♥♥ over gay people existing in the first place. I am a consenting adult and what I do with other consenting adult men is my damned business. Like no one puts a gun to someone else face and forces them to play a romantic visual novel with homoerotic options. I found this both hot and enjoyable with Amos and Brad being my favorites followed by Jed.

This game also has a lot of the more graphic sex scenes stripped out for the steam version. You can patch the steam version from a website to get the full content, but I think that's why it has not been banned

Wanted to comment on what some other people are saying, is this 'under review' becuase of general sexual content, or HOMOSEXUAL content? If Steam has a policy to ban anything sexually explicit regardless of sexual orientation, at least we know it's not personal and homophobic. Otherwise...

No game should be banned. Adult gamers need to demand that governments and companies start treating adults like adults.

We don't want censorship.

We don't want companies telling us what kind of content is "bad" for us.

We want adult games. We believe in Freedom of Speech.
