Important graphic mods?
Hello!

Just bought the game and wonder if there are recommended graphic mods? I have looked into the Workshop and found some.

Even without any graphics mods the game looks awesome. You might try the asteroids texture mod, though. It supposedly makes the game look even better.

It is better looking than many newer games. I am just astonished how crisp, clean and real the universe is. So you are right.

I second what the above poster said. There's pretty much just the asteroid mod, though the old-school textures never bothered me much. I guess they look odd nowadays but I grew up with this game on release in 2005, heh. Have yourself a splendid time in this 'verse!

You could enhance it more with reshade. Take a try.

What I did - helped a lot - Metal now looks somewhat like it

1. downloaded ://reshade.me and started it, selected the nexus dx9 exe
2. run the game, pressed pos1-key
3. selected
- HDR
- PBFX Bloom
- SMAA
- Curves
- Filmic Pass
- LumaSharpen
- Clarity
--- all on defaults

4. added a keybinding at the reshade options: insert -> toggle reshade

.. no, I have no idea what I did, just tried through the effects.

5. add the 2 steam workshop mods: astroids and planets. (in the nexus launcher, activate these)
