Performance problems

I've been playing this game solo and all has been fine for me. But when I started playing on H.M.S. Offshore my fps keeps very low and even drops to 5-10 on certain floors. I'm playing on the lowest setting in 1280x720 in Windowed mode.
My pc specs are:
Win7 64 bit.
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 5550 Processor 3.10 GHz

I don't know if it just my computer, but the settings and prison selection screens run at 40 FPS, the loading screen ~ 140 FPS and the actual game TEN FPS!!! I litterly can not increase my strength, I can spam q and e but the input and overall lag gives me nothing in increasing stats. It is really annoying to go some where and rubber band five times and then be late. It is severly annoying.

Is it just me?

LAG HELP

So I Just Got This Game After I Got A New Windows 10 And before the windows 10 conmputer I Had windows 7 From 6 years ago And The Game runs BETTER in the windows 7/ Old Computer! WHY? PS: My New Computer Is Windows 10 Surface 3 Pro, I NEED HELP

It's just the animations, I too had the same thought. The Game runs at 60 fps, just the animations look like 30 fps.

lag and game crashes

hey guys, im playing the escapists2 on my dell windows 10 laptop, if anyone could tell me how to remove lag that would be nice. thanks!

Hey dmsokal!

Could you provide us with a system information file (Dxdiag or equivalent) and crash dumps (the full folder!) so we can look at your specs and assist from there. If you don't know how to access this information on your laptop, you can use our guide which can be found here!

The general rule of thumb to increase performance in-game would be to lower settings in-game such as Shadows, disable the Blur effect and disable V-sync. Lowering your resolution will help performance too but will reduce the overall image quality.

Hey there TheBarkMeister!

Are you still experiencing poor performance whilst playing the game on our latest version, Version 1.0.6?

Since launch we have added numerous potential fixes and changes which may help your situation. One fix for the low frame-rate in the menu's is to 'Disable background videos'. You can do this from the 'Help & Options' screen.
