2 wait untill you have to go to your room at night time
3 go to your room
4 place your character in between the door-tile and the first room-tile
5 walk out
result: you wil get a check marker for night time(or whatever its called i forgot)
and then you can walk around without a lockdown happening. and when you get spotted by a guard they SOMETIMES ignore you, i dont know why that happens
Alternativly you could add a "Yell Fire" button that will provoke an immediate lockdown and get you thrown in the SHU as a last resort for getting stuck. Or if you really just want to check in.
Currently, going into other people's cells and backing out or connecting cells to co-op players isn't necessarily considered an exploit.
When the 'RETURN TO CELL' timer below the mini-map has depleted and the 'Lights Out' phase is in in full effect, any inmate caught outside their cell via guard, dog or spotlight will trigger lockdown immediately. So, while you can navigate around the prison during 'RETURN TO CELL' without any consequences, as soon as it turns to 'Lights Out', you have to watch out!
If you are experiencing issues with guards not spotting you and raising the prison alertness during 'Lights Out' please let us know as soon as possible! :)
@ claiminglight - There is a surrender function in the game already similar to the "Yell Fire" suggestion you made. Simply press F4 and then F1 to surrender. This will get you sent to solitary straight away.
We will consider all the feedback proposed here regardless as I will pass this information on to the devs to discuss.
Thanks again!

There just isn't any need to collect a cell key. It'd be an added risk, for no benefit, at the cost of having a limited durability item. But you're right: it isn't like a wall clip or something. "Exploit" may not be an appropriate appellation.
