How do you place a poster in a wall hole?

I used a multi tool to get through a wall. I tried to put a poster over the hole, but it didn't work. i marked the right square, but is showed up as red, and nothing happened when I pressed space. What am I doing wrong?

I haven't tried it yet myself, but you can craft a fake brick wall piece or something like that. Have you maybe tried placing the poster over a hole? Maybe you need to put in the fake wall first and then put the poster over it.

You have to actually remove the whole block and not part of it. (pretty strange imo).

I removed anough to be able to walk through the wall - I think that If I try to pick more I will more likely dig down.
