Question about how mutiplayer works
How does coop multiplayer work and how does competetive multiplayer work? I remember in the first Escapist if you got caught the whole prison got reset. That was mildly annoying in the first one (and a little unrealistic but that's another topic entirely) Does multiplayer work like this?

No.
If you get beaten up, a medic comes to you and takes you to the infirmary. You will loose all the contraband you have in your inventory.
If you get k.o. on lockdown, the medic will take you to a solitary cell instead and you will loose ALL the items you have, even green ones.
On versus mode is the same thing
The difference is that on coop (normal multiplayer) all the players have to eacape at the same time (by doing either perimeter or multiplayer escape), in versus the first player that escapes wins the game (I don't think multiplayer escapes work here).

Escapist 2 is less merciful than Escapist 1. The mechanics runs differently from each other, including the solitary situation where in part one you will skip five days losing all your contrabands and will need to reset that same day over.

Escapist 2, however, requires you to go to the routine, especially Roll Call. Miss a roll call will automatic initiate a lockdown and you will be thrown in the soltiary immediately. If you miss a routine, a half of star is given. Missing too many resulting a five star will create a lockdown. Also, dropping a dirt on ground will automatic give you a star so... don't drop that. When you are thrown to the solitary, you can peel potatoes to pass time in order to leave the room faster. It will not skip any days unlike Escapist 1.

As DismalGryphon wrote, during a lockdown if your heat is high and get beaten up by an officer or dogs, you will be losing all items from your hands and contrabands from your desk excluding your hidden compartment. When there is no lockdown, a nurse comes picking you up from a KO situation and you will lose contraband items from your hands but not your desk. You will need to retrieve your contrabands by going to the contraband room in the control room.

Multiplayer mode works the same, but be wary of friendly fire. Any player joins you can be from good to bad. Mulitplayer can only do the all-together escapes, not single unless that's the goal, they can leave and you complete your single player escape.

Versus mode is a bit of a hassle to me as I don't really play it as much, but versus is a gamemode where whoever escape first, wins. There are no routines, 24/7 map but based on time limit, and you get the items free from the vendor (if I recall).

I would strongly suggest getting this with friends as it's easier and more fun that way. Otherwise, ask the community here to see if they have time to lend a hand to help you out your way to escape from jail!
