Is there any way to play a multiplayer game via LAN?
My bros and I all have copies of the game, and we all share an Internet connection. We are really enjoying breaking out of all the virtual prisons, but often run into problems where we lag to oblivion and back. I don't know how this game's netcode is set up, but I can only assume our connections are going out to the Internet and coming back somehow. Trying to run the three of us on our measly 3Mb down / 0.5 Mb up connection is barely playable at times.

The thing is, I strongly suspect that we would not be running into this problem if we could play a game over LAN. Does anyone know if this is possible and I have just missed something? If not, and chance a dev viewing this could consider making this a possibility?

Have you tried via Steam -> Menu View -> Servers -> Tab LAN or manually adding the internal IP of the hosting player to the steam server browser?
I don't play multiplayer anymore, and I'm to lazy to try it myself, but those are 2 ideas I have that not everyone knows of.
The general jist is that you have to provide the internal network IP instead of going over the steam friendlist, which will prefer the external IP.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get this method to work. I added my local IP to my bro's server browser, but Steam just says "server not responding." I even tried disabling my firewall, but no luck.

On a side note, my resource monitor shows that Escapists2.exe is beaming out at least 12Kbps to an external server with just one bro connected.
