As for GR, haven't started that yet, so no idea how easy or hard it'll be- keep your eyes open and use those pay phones to your advantage.
Don't worry about your ranking. IT MEANS NOTHING. Just have fun. If you want to spend 20 days digging the mother of all tunnels out of the prison, do so. Just because you can escape on Day 0 using a set of lightweight clippers and a makeshift dummy after lights out by running to a nearby fence after roll call so you can get an A rank doesn't mean that's the correct way to play. Some of the more devious methods that take time to come to fruition often end up with you getting an F anyway.
Intellect never needs to be higher than 70. Strength is usually worth getting to 100 if you plan on fighting a lot, but you could also source a makeshift stun gun (power module + paper clip + duct tape) and win your fights that way, or use molten chocolate (chocolate + lighter + cup/mug) Fitness doesn't seem to do much, some people say it allows you to take more hits before your block breaks, some say it lets you take less damage from attacks, others say it increases health and stamina regeneration, others say it lowers stamina consumption, some say it lets you move slightly faster/power attack further. I don't really know for sure, but I know I've never bothered with it since my first run, and it hasn't really effected me in any way I can see. You can probably ignore it.
Don't bother with vents. Most of the time they lead to pointless locations - pretty much their only use is for specific escapes I.E Motorcycle Escape in KAPOW camp or for the most part, merely accessing the Contraband Desk or a Power Switch. Usually though it ends up being a complete waste of time and effort on your part. Making keys and obtaining a guard uniform is the way to go.
Don't be afraid to drop contraband items in the shed type buildings dotting the outskirts of the prison grounds. There's usually one or two of them on every map, and they have a good amount of room to drop a few items without ever being discovered. Some of them even have vents in that you can use to hide even more stuff too - although it's up to you if you bother since it usually requires a can ladder (using one potential loot storage spot) or the vent only has like two to three extra spots to stash loot anyway making it have a sorta low minimal return.
Also note: dropping items to store them is all well and good, but there is a limit to the number of items on the ground at any time. Once you hit that limit, the oldest items will start vanishing into thin air - be careful. It's never nice to find all that glue and toothpaste you collected ended up deleting your real stash of goodies elsewhere.
Bleach + Prison Outfit = Infirmary Scrubs. You can then add Ink to that to make a Guard Outfit but it's counter productive. Outfits allow you to avoid being prosecuted for various high profile actions, like climbing on desks, searching desks, or being in restricted areas, but when you are around guards your Heat will go up about 1 every second, multiple guards noticing you at once can fill it up very quickly I.E at roll call. When in uniform you are not safe from detectors or dogs if you are carrying contraband, nor are you safe from sniper towers or guard assaults from having higher than 80 Heat. Also note you still can't be seen digging, chipping or cutting during the day outside or inside by a patrolling guard, no matter what - and in some cases, they'll see through your disguise during Lockdown or Lights Out for whatever stupid reason.
Weapon stats go from Low - Medium - High and in terms of most importance, Reach is best, Speed second and Damage least. One of the best weapons you can use is the Makeshift Bass Box Guitar thing (Old Box, String and some other thing) because it's not a contraband item and has good reach, although I think honestly the defacto best weapon not counting the makeshift stun gun, stun gun, stun rod, cup of molten choc for their one hit KO power has to be the makeshift spear, it combines high reach, high damage with medium speed. Good luck finding glass though.
If you can knock out a riot guard and take their baton and clothing, you'll have some of the best defensive armour in the game and a pretty powerful weapon to boot - they usually only come out during Lockdown, but you can coax them out if you are lucky by triggering a camera or a detector and hoping they're the ones that come to check it out. Highest chance for this to happen is during a zero stars security phase when there are minimal guards patrolling, during shower time or roll call, when a lot of guards are occupied.
Pickaxes are pointless to make unless you plan on going for a multi-tool, which can remove 50% of a wall/underground dirt in one shot while only using 5% durability. Instead, you can break down a wall with a single iron bar, hammer or crowbar if needs be. They also require timber to upgrade which is better used to make braces (Timber + Timber + Timber) and also require a crowbar to begin building, which is only found by buying it instead of sheet metal which can be found in desks. They're usually an item you'd only make if you were desperate, despite what people say otherwise.
Also, don't use your flimsy or lightweight tools up, let them reach 5% or 10% durability and then turn them into the next tier, it repairs the whole thing back to 100% without you having to source more handles etc, can save time and resources in the long run.
There's usually always another route around detectors, for example in the KAPOW camp, the detector between the castle and the prison camp on the way to the mess hall can be bypassed by going around the castle to the North and entering through the back door. If that fails, the power rooms usually have a connecting vent that lets you knock off cameras, electric fences and detectors for about 60 seconds.
Cameras summon guards when they see fighting, someone standing on a desk/stack of cans, or looting a body/desk etc. This can be a good thing; in the KAPOW camp, you can stand on a desk to bring a guard to you, and then smash their teeth in to imprint their key or grab a quick set of clothes and a semi-decent weapon really quickly. If you are playing with friends, finding a nice remote camera and having them punch you while you block, and then both of you bashing their brains in when they turn up can be a really effective technique.
Blah blah.
I guess they might use less stamina to take down a wall than a hammer, crowbar, iron bar or god forbid, a screwdriver...but guards drop soda and adrenaline shots like they're going out of style, so stamina should never truly be a problem. Also beds, sofas and chairs!
If the developers ever add randomly uncovered rocks that you can come across while digging a dirt tunnel, then it might be another story.
