You can dig through almost any wall and cover it with a poster. This is a very powerful method of getting around at night, and allows you to make your escapes in steps.
You can dig underground to get almost anywhere, but remember to cover hole with a desk (keep in mind digging underground is often a slow process, and when you dig up to the surface, guards can see the hole from the surface)
You can make plastic keys for almost every door. Real keys are found on guards, and are used to make a key mold. Do not keep the real key or the prison will go into lockdown (doors that are grey on the map generally cannot be opened, though there are exceptions)
There are very few obsticals in this game that cannot be overcome.
If you're getting attacked randomly it could be several things.
1. If your heat is too high (80 or above I think) guards will attack on sight. Heat is below your health and stamina. Heat goes up for bad behavior, such as:
Being spotted somewhere you shouldn't be
Attacking a guard
Stealing
Etc.
If your heat is high, hide until you have it low enough, because being spotted by a guard when your heat is high will raise it further. This exists so if you are running from a guard your heat will not go down until you escape.
2. Guards and inmates have an opinion score for each player. If a guard or inmate has a low opinion of you, they may randomly attack you. Raise opinion by giving them gifts/money in the gift tab (it's probably a bad idea to give a guard contraband) or doing quests for them. Opinion is lowered if you attack them or fail/abandon their quests. Go to their profile tab and their opinion of you is shown.
3. If there are dogs patrolling the prison, they can smell contraband on you and in your desk. They will attack you if you have contraband. You can tell an item is contraband if the window that says the item's name is red. Dogs don't normally patrol unless prison alert is at 2 stars or more. Stars are gained by missing an activity or when damage to the prison is found. Stars degrade at the end of each day.
Hope that helps
Personally I think a video by someone who is tripping over left and right while finding there way around the game would be alot more entertaining than the premidated, tested, rehearsed and ultimately bland majority of those who handled E2.
