Having multiplayer saves just wouldnt work
So many bad reviews about that there are no saves in multiplayer.

How do these people imagine how the save system in multiplayer could work at all?

It would destroy all the fun if you could just load your pimped out 100 stat char into the host and roflpwn all guards in 2 minutes.

Lets say you play for an hour at the host and leave...now the host started a new game in the meantime with a new prisoner and you come back with your maxed out char....how would that fun?

its called escapists and not murderists.

It would only work if there would be a save file for every single prison and for every single player that joins the host. And there also needs to be a function to reset a character or start as a new one instead loading your character.

I dont think we will see a save function in escapists 2, because it is to much trouble for what you gain.

Yeah but my friend that created the player with me lost his every money and stats done within the SAME prison he started :\

yeah the multiplayer would be ruined if people could just use their maxed out character on any server.

Thing is the game is out for ~2 days and ppl (suprise suprise) are butthurt about everything.
It's normal i didn't see a game for the past 3 month that didn't get a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about anything.

I'm totally on your side it would be unbalanced like you said but some ppl dont get that point.
It's hard to balance but like i said its ~2 after release. Some ppl should be frickin patient.

This tbh

We are complaining not because you start over in a random dudes prison, but because you start over in your friends prison in which you've already played multiple hours in

You can't expect anyone to beat Center Perks in one sit people have lives so it's just common sense to be able to continue where you started with your friends

There are saves, but it just won't save the stats of anyone unless they're the host.

Personally I wouldn't want someone to be able to load in a maxed character into a random game. I think people are mainly ticked off due to the fact that their progress isn't saving in each game.

- Player A has a friend they want to play with called Player B.

- Player A connects to Player B's game and they play for an hour.

- Player A has to go for a bit so they disconnect.

- An hour later Player A joins Player B's game again and has to start all over besides things they've put in their limited room chest.

That's a downside for me and I believe most people from how I understand it. Either way, I love the game and I see what the dev's were going for. So, I'm interested to see if they make a few changes or not. I highly doubt I'll stop playing it regardless but I do think people are overreacting way too much but hey, that's my opinion.

I don't think you get what we're getting at here.

We want multiplayer to be similiar to Minecraft multiplayer, where each character has their own inventory for each server and if they leave that inventory stays.

Actually I'm fully aware of that. If you re-read my message above you'll see that I stated...

"I think people are mainly ticked off due to the fact that their progress isn't saving in each game. "

The example I provided is what basically happens currently. Due to how OP worded their initial message "It would destroy all the fun if you could just load your pimped out 100 stat char into the host and roflpwn all guards in 2 minutes.", it gives the impression that they think people want to be able to go into 1 game, max out their character then take that maxed our characters to other games. That is what prompted me to give the example I gave. Make a bit more sense now? :)

Update 2 has just gone live, which addresses stat and progression saving for multiplayer among other things!

I saw! Thank you very much for that update. It's always a great thing to see dev's take the initiative to have things updated/fixed/changed quickly. A good pat on the back is in order for everyone there.

why would you think of that type of save?
ever heard of europa universalis4? that kind of save should be used in this game.

I was always kind of thinking a Minecraft style multiplayer saving. You have a different inventory and statistics for each world, and it saves to your character when you log off.

Thats not true, My friends's Stats, Inventory, and Such saves in something called a "Swag bag"

You just have to trust the host not to mess with your swag bag unless they absolutly need something from it, my friends's Stat's save when he leaves.
