Black screen on launch..broken

Well there goes my day. Launched game and black screen. Left on for 15 minutes and nothing...rebooted, reset HTC Vive..etc. Now I missed my workout and have to double cardio at the gym tomorrow.

Wow, Same problem.
Worked just fine yesterday and now it loads... I can hear the background music... but can only see black screen.

Who's the developer that forgot to backport the hotfix from last week? lol...but seriously please fix...I'm trying to exercise 45 minutes for 45 days during this quarantine and its so hard to get motivated to do anything else.

Alright, idiotic fix.

If you have Superhot VR or some other VR game, locate a copy of openvr_api.dll

such as inside
\steamapps\common\SUPERHOT VR\SUPERHOTVR_Data\Plugins

and copy to inside
\steamapps\common\BOXVR\BoxVR_Data\Plugins

The last update removed this library which the game still needs to work with SteamVR
( https://steamdb.info/depot/641961/history/?changeid=M:3977762510495799927 )

This is quite the suspicious removal of the openvr support required for all non Oculus devices.....

Well same here ....black screen. Copy the dll, it launch but graphics are horrible.
i'm on Index VR Set .

Thank you very much for the solution, with The Lab DLL file, the game worked perfectly for me again.

It's regrettable that developers haven't yet discovered and solve something as simple as including a missing DLL, something a user discovered.

I've done my best to hinder automatic updates, as I see that they can't really be disabled, and I hope this not auto update again for that the developers break it again with their clumsy butterfingers.

Half an hour wasted with restarting, re-installing, rebooting - to find this simple solution - thx for helping, should ask for payment for helping out :)

ps: take a "new" .dll, first I tried an old one (AC), did not work, took the newest I had (Alyx) worked perfect

Have the same problem. I made workouts during the last days, but today the Gamescreen remains black, VR shows nothing (audio plays though). I just try to uninstall/reinstall, hope it works. Need my at-home-workouts!
