slow progress
hello everybody, I am using DRL for some time but I found myself still beginner. Finished all missions with 5 stars couple months ago, and made some progress, I can fly some medium stages but not hard (crash a lot). Problem is with precision and small gaps that is difficult to control. Do you have any recommendation tips or tricks how to improve this? Also what angle of camera do you use? I use on some fast simple maps 65 degree but on difficult ones do you change angle of camera? Tnx in advance :)

I'm in the same boat but even worse so understand the frustration. I try to practice an hour a day on DRL sim and get the basics right. But progress is slow. Makes you appreciate the skills of top pilots. I guess it just requires some dedication and time to get better. Will definitely be checking out the DRL Discord server as suggested by KaNoodle.

Update - 8th November 2021, Added a small amount of expo to my throttle (0.02) which helped a lot and would recommend it to others. Are using medium settings for controller sensitivity which are not super twitchy but not too mushy and still have good response. Only have 15 degrees camera tilt and camera FOV set at 100/3.2. Are improving a lot now and crashing a lot less. Practice is the key I think. Finding now I'm getting quite addicted to it. Before I was so frustrated I didn't even what to look at the sim.

I recommend using a RC Radio Controller rather than a Xbox or PlayStation controller. I tried my Xbox controller and response was terrible even with adding some Expo, almost unplayable in my opinion, I don't know how people can use this sim with those controllers, I guess it's just what you get use to. Also get into to full Pro mode as soon as possible. I was playing in intermediate mode (Angle Limiter On) for ages and it was very easy to move up to Pro Mode (Manual) with no problems at all.

I went on the DRL Discord server and it was a very good experience with a very friendly community, answering my newbie questions and being really helpful, highly recommended.

Hi Just a quick reply regarding camera angle, I think to start the angle you are using 65 degrees is way to high i would drop it to 40 - 45 or even lower until you learn the tracks and consistently hit those smaller gaps then bump it back up to what ever feels comfortable to you, just remember that you will need to pull back on your pitch more as you power through gaps the higher your camera angle is because the power will carry you more forward than up if that makes any sense (Hope so). I only fly freestyle so i know its not as fast but i use 27 degrees at the moment.

Thanks bro, I got used to 65 on 7" racer, on full throttle it go in mid of googles or monitor so it is ok, now I went back to smaller ones and I use smaller angle, I think from 15 to 30 will be my camera angle for freestyle. also angle depend on FOV if it is small FOV your angle is also smaller because you cant see ground. thanks for your post :)
