VR implementation
Is VR planned for this? I own a Vive and no drone racing equipment but would like to start this hobby.

Also, while I'm here, does anyone have any recommendations for controllers that work well IRL and in this game?

VR is something that has come up in the past and if there is enough player demand it's a feature that the team would add at some point in the future.

As for transmitter recommendations, the dev team uses the Taranis-X9D for both in game and real world drone racing.

I hope this info helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

I would love to see VR implementation to.

The game launch in Vr mode with SteamVR open but the game lag as hell. It's normal ? The game launch in a king of cinema lobby. Look like it's kind of a SteamVR feature.

Hello,
We do not officially support any form of VR in the Sim. The closest that you might be able to do is to use some 3rd Party program to view a desktop game through a VR headset. We have no stereoscopic 3D support nor features.
Thanks

Why you didn't add a SteamVR Camera Rig Prefab to the Drone Camera Transform ? That make no sense to me that Official DRL Game doesn't support VR where unoficial does with that simple implementation. It take 30 minutes into Unity 2018 to add a SteamVR Camera Rig and setup the game for VR compatibility. I don't get it, to be honest.

Hello,
We may add it in the future, but at the moment we are involved with more pressing issues relating to the Sim. We are aware of the interest surrounding VR support for the game but for the time being, it is not feasible.
Thanks

Did DRL get HTC Vive support in 2019 ?
Hello,
As of right now we do not have any plans for VR support in the DRL Simulator, we may add it in the future. Thank you for your continued interest.

Hi! Wanted to add my name into the pool. This would be an absolute rush and I'd love so much to play this in VR!

Drone racing is done in 2D googles so it would not be a "SIM" feature , in fact learning to fly FPV using stereoscopic vision will hurt you when going to the real deal that is in 2D, it is better to have a pair of FPV googles and play with that so you can also train your 2D depth perception of obstacles.

Hi!!

It will be an instant buy for me with VR support.
so.... +1 for VR.

+1 would purchase right now with vr support. Don't need stereoscopic but would help to get used to fpv.

for anyone that has FPV goggles already, most of them support some form of input (i.e. mini-HDMI in, VGA in, etc.). Your computer will recognize them as an extra monitor.
Also, as naitseng said, learning to fly FPV in stereoscopic view and with full motion tracking wouldn't simulate the real experience, and may lead to new pilots developing bad habits. If anything, I'd actually advise against VR support. As much as I love VR, I think it would make for a worse experience in the long run.

And for those who never plan to go FPV ? I didn't think that the bad habits is a real excuse, maybe to protect the sales of FPV drones can be a good point to restrict VR users to use their expensive headset to experience the real thing.
