Map editor documentation?
Hi. I like how map editor is implemented. Nice look and intuitive controls. But I don't understand how to

1) change gates order in race layout
2) strafe camera up/down

3) remove results of test flights from leaderboard when map updated. I made a map with 1 gate to test and finished in 2 seconds. Then I added around 50 gates which is now impossible to finish in 2 seconds but still I'm on the leaderboard #1 lol

Hello,

We are still working on a formal tutorial for the Map Maker, but we do have a good overview from one of our Twitch streams. {LINK REMOVED}

Thanks for letting us know about test flight results, we will look into solving that.

Thanks

1) Enter Race Blueprint mode pressing SPACE then either type the index or scroll-wheel on top of green diamond icon
2) Hold RIGHT button and WASD for ZX-axis movement and QE for Y-axis movement
3) For now only cloning the map and deleting the old one. The new map has a different ID so the leaderboard will point to a fresh one

4) Most if not all possible actions at the moment shows up in the bottom right as small tips. They say the keys and commands available in the current Editor state

That link appears to be dead and the one video you guys made on youtube is useful but certainly doesn't explain everything. What is the local and global option about? This thread got a response so I thought I would try to find an answer here. Is Cloning and deleting a map still the only way to reset something? I would think if you changed anything to do with the gates that it would auto reset but I guess not.

The video that was in that link is no longer there.. the video is on youtube.. most likely the only one you've seen, but just in case.. heres the link to the basics of map editor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fAb_1r63MM

However the local and global has to do with the orientation of object to you (your camera) and the actual level... so it allows you to move the item about based on local orientation to you or orientation to the map.

As far as your other question about cloning and deleting a map.. while you are making the track.. if you arent happy with things.. you can click on them and delete them.. you can also click and drag your mouse on the screen to grab a big section of assets and delete them that way as well.. if you arent happy with anything you did on that map then you can simply delete the entire map from your map edits. there is not "Reset" button to clear the map of all assets tho. Unless Ed snuck in some secret feature that im unaware of.. lol..

Appreciate the response. Yes that is the one video I had found. What I meant about deleting the map referred to resetting the leader board issue. My map used to have like 25 gates and I could do it in a certain time.. now it has 45?.. so yeah I'll never beat my old time. Copying and deleting wasn't a huge issue once I knew that was how it is done but it seems like it should be an option to reset .. probably automatically... the times anyone has done, if any gate is messed with.

I finally know what local and global does! yay! I'll have to try it out! Thanks

Thats a great idea... Thank you for that info! Perhaps we can work on something that when more gates are added to a track that already has LB times, it gives the options to clear the LB... Hmm going to have to kick this idea around a bit.. but a solid lead so far!

Thanks!
