Game used to launch, but now won't launch
I have already played 66 hours of the game, then took a couple months off, then it just won't boot up anymore. I hit play, the ubisoft launcher comes up, then goes away and the game never launches, I'm already using the cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%" launch argument which fixed it when I first got it, and now I've tried verify game files, reinstalling the game, and reinstalling Uplay, but it still won't start. Anyone have anything else I can try?

Hi guys !
Here is the answer:

basically, the only two changes I made from a fresh install
To have this in the launch parameters of Trials in both Steam and Ubi :

cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%"

this alone wont work (at least not for me)
but you also have to go into steam - library - Trials - right click - properties - controller - click drop down arrow - disable steam input

At first when I tried these two they didn't work, that was due to trying to run trials in compatibility mode as per some guides on the internet, undo any such changes if you've made them, hopefully this helps

Tell me if it worked for you

it has worked, thank you. Just had to copy code in the launch parameters and turned off steam input. If then u want to play with controller, just turn steam input on when youre in-game.

>Dab Thank you for the information. I tried what you suggested, but the game doesn't start in my Steam. As of now, it seems that after reinstalling, the settings are almost the same as what you mentioned by default (I just needed to input the Ubisoft Connect launch command). The symptoms are the same as when the game stopped launching last year. Back then, I was able to launch it with the command cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%", but this time it doesn't seem to work. Since the only change in my hardware is the addition of an SSD, it looks like I'll have to wait for Ubisoft to resolve the issue.

+1, have the same issue. None of the solutions provided in this thread seem to work.

I bought and installed the game yesterday. It worked then, but today, after my PC has reset, it does nor work anymore.

Finally managed to make this work. It seems Steam and the Ubisoft launcher were conflicting. By closing Steam, then starting the game through the Ubisoft launcher, it now works.

This remains a very annoying bug. What the hell, Ubisoft???
