Automatically goes to CO-OP when I try to play alone

I wanna play with a controller but the game forces me into Split screen CO-OP and I control both characters at the same time with the same controller? Is this intentional or a bug?

I think it's a bug. I have the same problem and I can't find a way to fix this.

i found a solution. try to turn of your controller configuration support in general controller settings

i had this happen on lego worlds and its in the steam controller config make sure you have all those setting turned off

I had the exact same problem but found a solution that works, for me at least:
Using DS4 and Steam Big Picture. Just make sure you have controller setting enabled both on big picture gereral setting and game setting.
