Price increase?

I remember when steam was first introducing anime series onto their platform, and the price for a 13 episode anime was around $8.98. During a sale, the price would be around $4.98 which is what I got this anime for. But a few months ago, they increased the price to $16.98 for 13 episodes and had 50% off during sales and now they rarely have sales for anime shows. Why did steam increase the price of anime shows, and why do they rarely have sales for shows anymore?

I don't know I bought this one as soon as it was available, I can't afford shows anymore specially considering I'm already a CR yeraly subscriptor.

I also don't know how much money goes to the creator of the show, considering you buy a specific show if the creator would get a good cut it would encourage me to buy more shows.
