This or Wings of Prey?

I am considering getting one of these 2 games, can someone who has played both advise on which is better?

Hello! I hear that Wings of Pray tends to be a little more arcade!
I was seeing both and I decided to bought Cliff of Dover.
Il2 COD is not as complete as IL2 1942. And you should have a good machine (hardware) to run it!
The graphic are very good! And I love the way that the other planes get injures! I enjoy it!
But I think that this game was not developed at 100%.
It has option than you can not use or configure.
I really want to said a lot, but I write very bad in english so is very difficult to me can explain all that I think about this game!

IL2 is a better sim.

Forget ♥♥♥, War thunder replace it and is more interesting in solo or multi (WT = ♥♥♥ 2). But WT have a disadvantage, it"s construct like World of Tank. You have to acquire experience to have better planes etc...

A very good sim, actualy is Rise of Flight. But it's a WW1 sim and you have to pay to acquire more planes (basics planes offered are good however).

Personaly I patiently waiting for the next IL2 who reniew with the first and the best, but old now, IL2 Sturmkovic, and was develloped by 777, the studio of Rise of Flight.

If you want a real sim, go to the DCS séries. They have make a department for WWII now, and the first realisation in WWII fighters is the P-51 Mustang. You can make dogfight vs BF 109 right now... when you have learn to fly (and landing) with your P-51.

For ♥♥♥ and WT, they are more arcade, yes! But if you choose the realistic mod with cockpit, stall etc. in WT you'll have a good fun ;)

IL2 COD is more sim than ♥♥♥/WT but less than DCS World (who specialise in modern combat). COD was a good game but I have prb with my friends to play in multi. The FPS in COD is another problem.

At last, COD is exclusively based on the war over England, WT cover Pacific/England/Malta and Sicilia/Russia etc.

DCS is a very good sim but only has the P51D flyable as a WWII warbird. The Bf109 is AI, i.e. you can create a mission to attack it in but you can't fly it.

CoD was very buggy when releeased but the communtiy's "Team Fusion" has produced two patches to fix several things:

war thunder has historical battles and full real battles, id say frb is even better as far as really feeling like you are dogfighting, than clod

and wings of prey is not / war thundert they are two seperate games... what happened is gaijin made blue steel for ps3 , then they helped make il2 sturmovik, birds of prey, then they released wings of prey for the computer same as il2 sturmovik birds of prey but just for pc.. now they are almost finished working on wart thunder, and basically theyve kept the same menus and things li8ke that while totally revamping the flight models and everything, there are three different game modes arcade historical and full real battles each getting a little more serious untill ur in full real battles and you cant use mouse aim, theyres no icons ove rplayers (meaning youll have to search the skies for enemieslike in real life) and the flight model is as real as it gets, you can watch some videos of people playing frb on yourtube it looks just like real ww2 footage of combat air to air combat. real life aerial combat maneuvering is key in frb and hb to winning, just like in real life, where as in arcade mode it is dumbed down a bit. in arcade mode u get more than one plane to play with in case you crash or get shot down, not the case in historical anbd frb modes.in hb and frb you also have to land at your base to repair and refuel and reload your plane, so ammo is more of a thing you need to be careful with.. FRB you cannot look out of the cockpit... i guarantee you guys will love war thunder if u like clod and its free to play so why not try it

Get CoD over Wings of prey. There is more fun in playing the game and if you play around with the realism yuo can make it pretty arcade-ish. Cliffs of Dover is a much better sim. War Thunder is a free to play open beta game, so get that too. It is very enjoyable, in all the modes.

I've gone from IL21946 to ♥♥♥ and now after a year of hardware upgrades and the ATAG patch, I'm enjoying a smooth running COD. ♥♥♥ was a very good improvement graphic wise over 1946 but it wasnt a better sim (even in sim mode). 1946 still probably has the best MP community but its been building since 2000. ♥♥♥'s MP was probably it weakest feature. WT fixes ♥♥♥'s MP but the pay to play/get planes model is unappealing to me. So currently the best WWII sim (albeit only Battle of Britain) is COD. I've only tasted COD MP but it seems solid and community is growing.

in each country there is only 5-7 planes that you cannot get without paying real life money for. and each plane is at least matched in performance to a plane u can get from playing for free.

♥♥♥ fm was garbage, wt is really good, war thunder IS ♥♥♥ but just upgraded updated and stuff.. its the same makers gaijin ent.

I have a brand new top spec system and COD crashes alot - normally after halfway through a mission. I have gone back to 1946. ♥♥♥ is graphically nice but a bit more arcade like, especially the missions. If you get COD you will spend your gaming hours trawling through COD forums looking for fixes for annoying glicthes and crashes rather than flying. Its on sale for a reason - such a shame given how rock solid 1946 was. The dev team are working on the next version but there are some very good mods that are better than the official partches.
