Game freezes

So, my game freezes roughly 5 minutes into any mission. I tried playing tutorials and the RAF campaign, and so far with the same result: game freezes and needs me to close it with task manager. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be and it's possible solution? Also, if it matters, Steam performs First Time setups every time i launch the game from library (launching it manually works fine) and the text in menus blurs after i hover over it with my cursor and move the cursor away.

Windows 7 64-bit
AMD Radeon R9 270x
Intel I3 4330

check if you have installed windows update kb2670838, known to give troubles in many games, including Cliffs of Dover. Behaviour for those with the problem: They fly fline and then, for no reason, in between 8-15 mins of the game it freezes. Removing that specific update (was a preparation for some Internet Explorer update itself) solves the problem.

Ooh, i actually did have that update, although I'm not using IE. Gonna uninstall it now, thx for help. Now to see if I'm able to fly! =D

Nope, vanilla in it's purest form. And pretty much all of the problems described above are gone.

They are the continued development, all done by the community... and they improve the game SO MUCH you won`t believe it!

also they are must have for multiplayer because all the servers run on the latest Team Fusion Version. Everyone plays it, really!

Ok, thanks for the link. To be honest i'm new to flight sims (War Thunder realistic mode doesn't count), so my priority isn't enhancing the game, but rather getting decent at it. Still, thanks a lot!

I know what you mean, most mods are just a bunch of retextured models and a sloppily added multitude of ambiguiously different aircraft. But if War Thunder on realistic doesn't qualify as a sim then you are definatly going to want to get decent at the Team Fusion update. It doesn't add a lot of flashy things but is very nuts and bolts.

The complex engine management and flight model in the update really reward you for flying an aircraft to its virtues. And the Battle of Britain is an excellent historical example of combat between dissimilar aircraft. This makes dogfights into real mind games.

If you want to get into hardcore simulators, the Team Fusion patch has made this game into a beast of a simulation.

Team Fusion is highly recommended!

By "getting decent" I wanted to say that i am a complete noob with a joystick. I can't hit anything and I'm not even able to tak off properly. In War Thunder you just have to point at your target and the AI does the job for you. This means that I'm ok in theory, but awful in practice. There's a lot for me to learn, so making the game harder and more realistic might not be very good for me at the beginning. Still, I've installed the mods and I'll probably even try multiplayer some time =)

Coo, nice to hear! The community always loves to see new members online! By the way: The absolutely fastest way to get "decent" is to grab a mic and join the people on the ATAG-TS. Learning this sim with others is the easiest and best way possible...

Here's[en.lmgtfy.com] how to uninstall the update. More specifically here[h30434.www3.hp.com]. Alternatively, hunt it down in the update center.
